‘It’s just unbelievable’: World Cup visitors BLOWN AWAY by America and her people

As America approaches its 250th birthday, Europeans experiencing these majestic lands for the first time are being blown away.

Celebrations in Mexico City erupted as the 2026 World Cup tour got underway on Thursday. The entire tournament will span three countries in 16 host cities, with three in Mexico, 11 cities in the US, and two in Canada.

With 48 teams, it is the biggest World Cup ever, and European “football” fans and players are flocking to the U.S., where the bulk of games will take place. Simultaneously, something else is taking place… foreigners realizing they’ve been suckered by America-bashing media, and absolutely loving this country and her people for feeling like coming “home.”

From big trucks, savory eats, heart-warming hospitality, oppressive heat, “museum-like” Walmart, shooting ranges, and “endless free” refills at soda fountains, Europeans are sharing their fascination and surprise along their journeys.

Fox News’ Will Cain highlighted the viral trend:

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to foreign feedback pouring in about our great nation.

We’re here to take a deep dive, as with Shaun, ‘a Scottish guy at the World Cup’ who woke up this Friday morning with the “smell of freedom and brisket” permeating his dreams.

Earlier in his trip, Shaun was ecstatic to discover properly prepared ribs:

Another man sporting a Harley shirt was giddy about Walmart, which “feels like a museum for Europeans.”

Leah Ray is visiting from the UK, and said she’s realizing that America is more than just the stereotypes.

“There is so much real culture here and friendly, down to earth people. I know a lot of people have picked up on this now, but it’s genuinely shocked me,” she wrote on X.

“Check this out, guys. High-trust societies,” a man in the following video says while looking over merch in what appears to be a quirky (and awesome) diner. Later, he spots “God is the answer, always” engraved on the table. “That’s beautiful,” he says before saying he feels like he’s at “home.”

“We literally, immediately feel like we just arrived home here, ever since we’ve gotten to Texas. It’s just unbelievable.”

That feeling of “home” is likely the exhilarating feeling of freedom America’s founders believed we were ordained to experience. But there’s more, so much more!

Freddy from Germany has been documenting his road trip journey throughout the states and is seemingly fascinated by all he sees, including a shooting range in a Bass Pro shop.

And they were selling rifles, too. Real ones!

Skylar Skye from the U.K. said she came to America “expecting a great World Cup. What I didn’t expect,” she continued, “was how welcoming everyone would be.”

“Every local I’ve met has been desperate to recommend places to visit, food to try and things to see. Americans, thank you,” she said on X.

She must be referring to experiences like this cheerful Irish bloke had when he got a friendly impromptu lesson on America’s favorite junk food by a welcoming stranger:

And the “free” refills! Europeans can’t get enough of it:

“Bro, slow down, slow down,” an Italian man says to his companion who is happily seizing on the opportunity to guzzle all the Coke he wants.

Speaking of guzzling… the bars are hopping too.

England fans were seen happily belting out “Keir Starmer’s a wanker” in a pub in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Ha!

Meanwhile, Elsa from Sweden wondered why even the firetrucks in America are beautiful.

Jason Bartlett, a South African farmer who’s been chronicling his adventures through the United States to highlight the atrocities in his home country that he was forced to flee, took a moment to celebrate with Scottish soccer fans in D.C.

The posts go on and on, and it’s a wonderful reminder of all that is great in America and all that is worth fighting for.
