House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer has threatened to sic contempt of Congress charges on the Clintons unless they appear for a deposition next month about deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Comer already subpoenaed former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, on Aug. 5, but the couple’s attorney, David E. Kendall, reportedly fired back by asking that they be allowed to make “a written proffer of what little information” they have about Epstein.
“Former President Clinton and former Secretary Clinton welcome legitimate oversight in this matter that is grounded in fact,” Kendall wrote, according to Fox News. “In that regard, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary Hillary Clinton have little to contribute to that legitimate goal, all of which can be readily submitted on paper.”
In a new letter sent on Friday to Kendall, Comer addressed the attorney’s arguments.
Democrats and Republicans approved subpoenas in July for Bill and Hillary Clinton.
After good-faith efforts to schedule depositions, further delays aren’t acceptable. Given their Epstein ties, avoiding Congress would be in defiance of subpoenas & warrant contempt proceedings. pic.twitter.com/mxxgq3GX7v

“Given the admission that your clients possess some relevant information, your position amounts to a demand that the Committee forgo in-person testimony, potentially relevant to its legislative oversight,” Comer wrote in the letter.
“Additionally, your suggestion that your clients’ testimony would not be relevant to the stated purposes of the Committee’s investigation because the events in question took place outside of the Clintons’ respective official duties misses the Committee’s point,” he added.
“It is precisely the fact President Clinton and Secretary Clinton each maintained relationships with Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell in their personal capacities as private citizens that is of interest to the Committee,” the Oversight Committee chairman concluded.
In a statement accompanying the letter, Comer warned the Clintons that they could face contempt of Congress proceedings if they were to skip their deposition next month.
“Given their history with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, any attempt by the Clintons to avoid sitting for a deposition would be in defiance of lawful subpoenas and grounds to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings,” he said.
Speaking of “their history” with Epstein, Bill Clinton has admitted to having travelled on Epstein’s jets, though he’s denied ever visiting Epstein’s famous island.
Furthermore, Clinton reportedly wrote in his 2024 memoir “Citizen” that he wished he’d never met Epstein.
Former president Bill Clinton has revealed in his new book Citizen that he regrets ever having met with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the New York Post, after Clinton left the White House, he flew over a dozen times on Epstein’s private jet, dubbed the “Lolita Express.”
Clinton’s wife, meanwhile, “received donations for a Senate campaign from” Epstein before he was rung up for soliciting prostitution in 2005.
Yet Epstein’s madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, later attended the wedding of the Clintons’ daughter, Chelsea, in 2010.
All this comes after President Donald Trump recently signed legislation ordering the public release of all the so-called Epstein files.
“Under The Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Justice Department must release all unclassified records and investigative materials related to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell,” according to Fox News.
“Additionally, it must share files related to individuals who were referenced in Epstein’s previous legal cases, details surrounding trafficking allegations, internal DOJ communications as they relate to Epstein and any details surrounding the investigation into his death.”
BREAKING: CONGRESS JUST INTRODUCED THE “EPSTEIN FILES TRANSPARENCY ACT” AND IT’S MASSIVE
The bill demands the DOJ release everything:

Trump hurriedly signed the legislation after congressional Republicans released several emails from Epstein’s estate that left-wingers argued implicated the president in something nefarious.
Days later, congressional Republicans responded by releasing 20,000 pages of Epstein emails/documents from their own stash.
Democrats whine about “releasing the files,” but they only cherry-pick when they have them to generate clickbait.
