Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) appears to be trying to clean up the mess he finds himself in after allegations that he leaked Ghislaine Maxwell’s private emails.
As previously reported, the attorney for Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, said staffers at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas were fired after excerpts of privileged attorney-client emails were forwarded to Raskin, who then allegedly leaked them to the press.
“The release to the media by Congressman Raskin (Dem., Maryland) of Ms. Maxwell’s privileged client-attorney email correspondence with me is as improper as it is a denial of justice,” Maxwell’s attorney Leah Saffian said in a scathing statement last week. “The congressman is a ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, an attorney and law professor. He must be aware that his conduct undermines the whole legal process,” Saffian said of the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, not the Oversight Committee.
Raskin responded in an MSNBC interview after the attorney confirmed the prison employees were terminated.
Raskin responds: “This is very strange to me, that there are employees who’ve been fired because of what they’ve done. I’m curious how they would know that.”
“We’re not saying where we got any information that we received. And it may not even be from the people that she’s… https://t.co/MmK6N0qKFZ pic.twitter.com/ZX8FWkdM5S

“All they’re saying is that somehow they know, and this is very strange to me, that there are employees who’ve been fired because of what they’ve done,” he said of the bombshell report.
“I’m curious how they would know that. That sounds like a breach of whatever employees’ personnel records are,” Raskin said.
“This is her claim that these people were fired for what they did. The allegation seems to be that her attorney-client privilege was somehow compromised in the TruLink system,” he continued, claiming the prison’s system requires users to sign off on a disclaimer about the privacy of their communications.
“We’re not saying where we got the information that we received. And it may not even be from the people that she’s talking about,” Raskin told MSNBC.

Maxwell’s attorney stated that the prison staff who forwarded the emails were met with “appropriate consequences.”
“They have been terminated for improper, unauthorized access to the email system used by the Federal Bureau of Prisons to allow inmates to communicate with the outside world,” Saffian said in a statement.
Raskin’s latest comments were ripped by social media users who accused him of trying to cover his own butt.
Ha running cover.

Wow, so they illegally obtained these things in the first place.
Why am I not surprised. Look how happy he looks with himself

They’re so blatantly lawless and they’re encouraging others to break the law for them. It’s disturbing

Raskin is doing some real dancing around there. He needs to be put under oath and questioned.
