The left understands clearly that if you control language you control the masses, and that is precisely what they endeavor to do in politics today — with a hearty assist from their allies in the media.
Nowhere is this more apparent than in the reaction to the U.S. being in a recession. When not outright denying that we are not in a recession, the White House is busy trying to redefine what a recession is, but Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was even more creative than that.
The woman who downplayed inflation, suggesting last year that is was “transitory,” had this to say about the U.S. gross domestic product shrinking for the second consecutive quarter: “We’ve entered a new phase in our recovery.”

Somewhat ironically, The Hill reported that while this is the very definition of a recession, the Biden White House plays by it’s own set of rules.
The political news site noted: “Two straight quarters of negative economic growth have long been used as a rule of thumb to determine when the U.S. is in recession and is the formal threshold for a recession in other countries. But economists in the U.S. consider a broader range of data when determining if the U.S. is in recession.”
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) was only to eager to help Yellen identity this new “phase.”

Of course, Yellen has no problem admitting that she was wrong — after all, there are no consequences for this administration.
When asked by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer back in May if her being wrong about inflation early on contributed to the 40-year high inflation we are experiencing, she replied: “Well, look, I think I was wrong then about the path that inflation would take. As I mentioned, there have been unanticipated and large shocks to the economy that have boosted energy and food prices and supply bottlenecks that have affected our economy badly that I didn’t — at the time didn’t fully understand. But we recognize that now.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the administration propaganda from Twitter, suggesting that sometimes all you can do is laugh:
