Jen Psaki should watch whose name she chooses to drop.
In a recent Pod Save America podcast, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki rolled her eyes and dropped Judge Jeanine Pirro’s name in an attempt to characterize Fox News’s ongoing coverage of the continuing surge in violent crimes across the nation as nothing but unfounded hype.
Never one to shy away from confrontation, Pirro destroyed the tone-deaf Psaki in a pointed response on The Five, suggesting the concerns of real Americans can’t be heard from Psaki’s “ivory tower.”
As carjackings, homicides, and deadly ambushes on law enforcement officers plague many of America’s major cities, Psaki stated on the podcast, “On Fox is Jeanine Pirro talking about soft-on-crime consequences. I mean, what does that really mean, right? So there’s an alternate universe.”
When Fox News White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich asked Psaki to explain her dismissive comments, the press secretary attempted to blame Fox and, of course, Republicans.
“What I was speaking to, was a chyron on Fox News, since you raised it, which suggested this administration is soft on crime with no basis,” she said, ignoring the record-breaking statistics one would expect a White House Press Secretary to have at least glanced at.
“In the American Rescue Plan, there was additional funding to support local cops programs — something that every single Republican voted against,” she added.
“Psaki called you out, Judge Pirro,” Jesse Watters said, before inviting the outspoken Pirro to respond.
And respond, she did.
“She wants to know why I’m talking about the consequences of soft on crime,” Pirro stated. “Well, I’m talking about the consequences of the Democrat, liberal, progressive, leftist, soft-on-crime, criminal-loving, victim-hating group that has made a decision that no bail, no jail, and that criminals are — they should be privileged and that social justice and rogue prosecutors should not be a part of the criminal justice system.”
And Judge Pirro was just warming up.
“Jen, are you so locked up in your ivory tower that you have no idea what Americans really care about and what they’re concerned about?” she asked, glaring into the camera. “The truth is that the killing of innocents who did not deserve it or ask for it and did nothing but get in the way of a murderer — very often out on your bail policies — and that murderer and that gun decides that they should die. And you are not even recognizing what you have done.”
If Psaki needed a reality check, Pirro was ready with cold, hard facts.
“Just as we mentioned, the crime wave from 2019 to 2021 is 44% up in terms of homicides and major American cities, but Joe Biden ignored all of this. Joe Biden ignored the looting, the burning, the rioting, and he ignored the burning of a federal courthouse and police precincts,” Pirro continued, referring to the BLM/ANTIFA riots in Portland and elsewhere following the death of George Floyd.
“You people don’t standup for law and order,” Pirro concluded. “We do.”
