Jeffries defends ‘loving father’ Biden’s remarks about scandal-ridden son doing ‘nothing wrong’

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) backed up “loving father” President Joe Biden and his claims about the innocence of his son, Hunter Biden.

The New York Democrat defended the commander-in-chief on NBC’s “Meet the Press” for saying that his son had done “nothing wrong” related to the federal investigation into tax and gun charges.

“First of all, my son has done nothing wrong,” Biden said in an interview last year with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle before Hunter had been indicted on the charges. “I trust him. I have faith in him.”

The scandal-ridden younger Biden pleaded not guilty in October to the federal gun charges in October. Attempts to delay the trial or get the charges dismissed have so far failed.

Jeffries was asked Sunday if it was “appropriate” for the president to comment publicly on his son’s case.

“President Biden commented as a loving father, as I would hope any loving father would do,” he said.

“Hunter Biden, of course, is entitled, as was Donald Trump, to the presumption of innocence and to a trial by a jury of his peers,” Jeffries said.

“And this Justice Department is going to proceed in that fashion, present the facts and the law, and then we’ll all have to wait for a determination that is made by a jury as to Hunter Biden’s guilt or innocence,” the Democrat leader added.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro reacted to Jeffries’ defense of the president’s remarks.

“Really? An admitted coke user lies on a gun application and gets a gun and photographs it for all to see and then throws it away near a school……,” she wrote on X. “If the jury convicts, he won’t accept the outcome? So are the Democrats now fully supporting the second amendment?”

Others on social media also weighed in on Jeffries’ take on the “loving father.”
