John Kerry jokes about ‘completely misnamed’ Inflation Reduction Act and lets the truth slip

The Biden administration’s 78-year-old Climate Czar, former Secretary of State John Kerry, joked that the “completely misnamed” $124 billion, totally “amazing” Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has little to do with reducing inflation — a fact most struggling taxpayers in America don’t find all that funny.

Speaking at the International Energy Agency’s Global Clean Energy Action Forum in Pittsburgh, Penn., Kerry called the IRA “a completely misnamed piece of legislation,” due to the Irish Republican Army, which terrorized England with devastating bombings that killed or injured hundreds of innocent people.

“We’re running around saying, ‘I support the IRA.’ That’s tricky in politics, but here we are,” he kidded attendees, according to Fox News.

“And I’m not sure how much it has to do with inflation, but that’s OK,” he added because nothing says “ha-ha” like airports blowing up and Americans drowning under the weight of record-breaking inflation.

But hey, the IRA does combat climate change and promotes so-called “green” energy, and for that, says Kerry, it’s “an amazing piece of legislation.”

“The most important parts of the IRA are very simple,” Kerry explained. “Production and investment tax credits. That, I think, is going to do more than almost anything else in the bill.”

“We don’t have to have government making choices about winners and losers,” he continued. “The marketplace is going to choose. You, inventors and investors, are going to help move that along and we’re going to get there.”

Public-private partnerships — the very definition of economic fascism — are key to making the IRA work, he stated, because governments don’t have the money “to solve this problem.”

Taxpayers, compelled to pony up the bucks, and the rich private sector, however, are a different story.

“The private sector is the entity that has the trillions of dollars,” he stated.

It would be interesting to know if he came to this conclusion while flying to his next climate lecture on his private jet.

As American Wire reported back in July, the Kerry family jet — a luxurious Gulfstream GIV-SP — had spent, since President Biden took office, more than 60 hours in the air over 48 trips, resulting in an added “715,886 pounds, or 325 metric tons, of carbon” to the already “urgent national security threat” of climate change.

“By contrast, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, the average American driving approximately 11,500 miles per year produces 4.6 metric tons of carbon with their car annually,” American Wire reported. “That translates to just over 47 times as much carbon produced by Kerry from his jet alone.”

On Twitter, Kerry’s comments are being seen as further proof that “the Swamp” is shameless.

“The #Swamp and #Establishment once again folks … no longer hiding their agendas.,” wrote one user. “There is evil at the helm and they’re dividing us as a nation.”

“So we can call it The Increasing Inflation Act,” suggested another, suggesting that Kerry lives — presumably with his Democratic colleagues — in “clown town.”

Others think it’s time for the aging activist to retire.

“Time for you to retire to one of your power hog homes!” one user declared.

And while Kerry may not be sure what the IRA has to do with inflation, a fourth user spelled it out for him.

“Well, we know:” he said, “NOTHING.”
