Johns Hopkins Hospital ignites firestorm with DEI ‘hit list’

Anger is brewing against Johns Hopkins Medicine after its diversity chief labeled all whites, Christians, and men as so-called “privileged.”

Dr. Sherita Hill Golden, the chief diversity officer for the entire Johns Hopkins Hospital system, issued the smear in an internal Martin Luther King Jr. Day newsletter that a hospital employee later shared on X.

As seen above, the newsletter from Golden begins with her defining so-called “privilege” as “a set of unearned benefits given to people who are in a specific social group.”

And not surprisingly, the specific social groups listed are mostly the same groups reviled by the Democrat Party:

  • White people
  • Able-bodied people
  • Heterosexuals
  • Cisgender people
  • Males
  • Christians
  • Middle or owning class people
  • Middle-aged people
  • English-speaking people

The newsletter from Golden goes on to describe how so-called “privilege” works.

“Privilege is characteristically invisible to people who have it,” the newsletter reads. “People in dominant groups often believe they have earned the privileges they enjoy or that everyone could have access to these privileges if only they worked to earn them.”

“In fact, privileges are unearned and are granted to people in the dominant groups whether they want those privileges or not, and regardless of their stated intent,” it continues.

The newsletter has since gone viral on X, where it’s attracted massive criticism, including from billionaire X owner Elon Musk.

“This must end!” Musk, a staunch opponent of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) tweeted Thursday.

To Golden’s credit, she’s since retracted her biased, bigoted definition of “privilege” and issued a memo apologizing.

“The newsletter included a definition of the word privilege which, upon reflection, I deeply regret,” she wrote. “The intent of the newsletter is to inform and support an inclusive community at Hopkins, but the language of this definition clearly did not meet that goal.”

“In fact, because it was overly simplistic and poorly worded, it had the opposite effect. I retract and disavow the definition I shared and I am sorry,” she added.

Meanwhile, a Johns Hopkins Medicine spokesperson issued a statement to the Daily Mail also effectively apologizing.

“The January edition of the monthly newsletter from the Johns Hopkins Medicine Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Health Equity used language that contradicts the values of Johns Hopkins as an institution,” the spokesperson said.

“Dr. Sherita Golden, Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Chief Diversity Officer, has sincerely acknowledged this mistake and retracted the language used in the message,” they added.

Anger still remains, however, because of DEI’s forever-expanding influence on American society.

As previously reported, DEI is a racist framework that attempts to create equal outcomes by applying discrimination against those who naturally perform well.

For example, affirmative action is a DEI concept whereby qualified white and Asian students are discriminated against so that unqualified black and Latinos can be granted admission into college.

In a tweet posted earlier this month, Musk summed up DEI with the following words: “Discrimination on the basis of race, which DEI does, is literally the definition of racism.”
