Kaepernick mocked over begging for job after likening NFL to slavery: ‘Your revolutionary hero’

Former NFL quarterback and self-styled race prophet Colin Kaepernick has largely slipped into obscurity after he was celebrated for his kneeling during the national anthem before games and now he’s on his knees begging for a job.

In a desperate cry for relevance, the one-time San Francisco 49ers slinger wrote a letter to the New York Jets after the team lost superstar Aaron Rogers only a handful of plays into the season’s first offensive drive, a devastating loss for a team that had staked its Super Bowl aspirations on the costly acquisition of the former Green Bay Packer.

Kaepernick’s September 21 letter to Jets GM Joe Douglas pleading for a spot on the team, even on the practice squad, was shared by rapper J. Cole, who got permission from the ex-player who hasn’t taken a snap from center in an NFL game since 2016, to post it to Instagram.

“I know that there are currently depth issues at the position, and I’ve heard that the back-up spot is likely to be filled by a veteran Quarterback. As much as I would love the opportunity to fill that spot, I’m writing you in hopes that you can imagine a much different approach involving me; I would be honored and extremely grateful for the opportunity to come in and lead the practice squad. I would do this with the sole mission of getting your defense ready each week,” the 35-year-old wrote in a letter that could have only been more pathetic if he was begging for a spot as a ball boy.

It’s a heck of a climb down from his Netflix series when he liked the NFL combine to a slave auction.

While Kaepernick’s adoring admirers cheered for their hero to get another chance at proving his gridiron greatness, others on X ridiculed his sad and possibly last-ditch effort to salvage what was at one time, a promising career before he went rogue.

“Sued the NFL, took a settlement, put out a Netflix video calling the NFL slavery, writing letters begging for a spot on the plantation. Your revolutionary hero,” wrote Jason Whitlock of Fearless.

Whitlock poured it on in his Wednesday column, “Kunta Kaepernick now wants a job back on Massa Goodell’s plantation? Make it make sense.”

Other X users also sacked the king of the kneelers who once led his team to the Super Bowl before catching the “woke” mind virus.

The Jets announced that the team has signed journeyman Trevor Siemian, wisely choosing to pass on the media circus that would accompany bringing in Kaepernick, not to mention the cancer that would be introduced into the locker room.
