Kansas school district teacher training says following parents’ wishes on child’s gender ‘is not acceptable’

Kansas lawmakers may be attempting to protect students from alphabet activists’ trans indoctrination, but at least one school district is claiming lives are at stake as its exposed teacher training was found to advise that educators keep student secrets and not “push them over the proverbial edge.”

The LGBT-etc. crowd may bristle at the label “groomer,” but arguments of acceptance are difficult to swallow when public records requests are required to uncover that parents are being boxed out of what is being foisted upon their children. Recently, the grassroots organization Parents Defending Education (PDE) submitted such a request to the Wichita Public Schools and found not only were they encouraging students to have a “‘go to’ adult at school” for handling their gender issues, but they were contending that to do otherwise “could lead to death.”

Along with the “Gender Support Plan For Students” questionnaire that produced a file on whether the parents were “aware and supportive of their child’s gender transition,” a staff training PowerPoint presentation titled “LGBTQ+ Students: Pronouns and More” utilized activist group GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) as a resource to promote the idea, “schools are hostile places for LGBTQ+ students.”

Produced by the school’s Director of Equity and Diversity Training Keith Reynolds for the district where twice as many employees identify as LGBT as students, the presentation argued, “The lack of using pronouns could lead to death. We are here to support and educate students, not to judge them or push them over the proverbial edge.”

“To not use the preferred pronouns and/or names can equate to discrimination,” the next slide argued. “To allow a parents wishes to not use the students’ preferred pronouns and/or names is to allow yourself to be deputized to discriminate. This is not acceptable.”

According to GLSEN, which is known to support “hormone replacement therapy,” gender ideology needs to be promoted at a young age. Their website reads “while many LGBTQ+-inclusive school supports begin in middle or high school, it is critical for elementary schools to establish a foundation of respect and understanding for all people.”

PDE president Nicole Neily cut to the heart of the problem in a statement where she suggested school officials have become full of themselves.

“Under the doctrine of ‘in loco parentis,’ schools are delegated some measure of authority over children during the course of the school day. However, this certainly does not mean that public school officials replace or supplant the role of the family — which sadly, far too many taxpayer-funded educators seem to have forgotten. To undermine parents’ right to direct the upbringing of their children is not only immoral, but also illegal,” Neily said.

While the support plan would indicate which bathrooms and locker rooms a particular student would like to use, Kansas lawmakers are currently working to pass legislation that would not only prohibit students from using spaces based on their own preferences, but that would also restrict them from competing in the other gender’s sports.

Furthermore, the state Senate has advanced a bill to legally define biological sex “for purposes of statutory construction” as part of a “women’s bill of rights” and another crucial piece of legislation to protect children from doctors who would induce harm by performing “gender-affirming” surgeries or providing “care” to that effect on minors by revoking their licenses.
