Joy Behar, cohost of ABC’s “The View,” did the unthinkable on Tuesday as she spoke out in support of U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a spirited Trump supporter.
Then again, Behar’s unexpected détente may be a good indication she’s feeling serious heat over an insipid remark last week that the residents of East Palestine, Ohio, have only themselves to blame for the toxic fallout that followed the Norfolk Southern train derailment because they voted for Donald Trump.
Greene took to Twitter late Monday to say that she was “attacked in a restaurant tonight by an insane women and screamed at by her adult son.” The Georgia Republican said she was working over dinner with her staff in Washington, D.C. when confronted.
“They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views,” Greene added. “They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control. I was sitting at my table, working with my staff, and never even noticed these people until they turned into demons. People used to respect others even if they had different views. But not anymore. Our country is gone.”
Behar responded on Tuesday’s show, “I have to say, I’m on Marjorie’s side for this one because I don’t believe that anybody should be going up to any of us — anybody in public — and harassing us.”

Naturally, the 80-year-old liberal personality had to have a personal interest at play here. Behar pointed out that Greene has a history of confronting others, naming U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and former Parkland student David Hogg, among the examples.
“She does this, and now it’s been done to her,” Behar said. “And you know, I have to say that I think it’s deplorable that anybody would do anything like that, including her! And the person who did that to her.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin was sympathetic to the Republican lawmaker, but doubted the legitimacy of the claim, telling Behar she needs “more information.”
Sunny Hostin says MTG shouldn’t be harassed but argues that MTG is a “professional troller” and was “disrespectful to the president of the United States during the state of the union.”

“She’s this professional troller. She was disrespectful to the president of the United States during the State of the Union. She heckles people all the time. I need more information,” she said.
“Let’s just take her word for it in this case,” Behar said, prompting Hostin to shoot back, “I can’t do that.”
Still, social media users were convinced that Behar was engaging in some stealth damage control of her despicable remarks about the victims in Ohio facing an environmental disaster:
On the other hand, she said Ohio residents deserve what they get bc they voted for Trump. The woman gets NO PASS from me.

Sounds like she’s doing damage control for her stupid comments. “see I play both sides”.
