FBI Director Kash Patel unveiled what is perhaps the perfect example of how the bureau had become a “diseased temple” when it was under previous leadership, a sick testament to the politicizing of what was once America’s premier law enforcement agency.
On Thursday, a day when underhanded former special counsel Jack Smith was grilled by congressional Republicans on Capitol Hill, the FBI chief took to X where he shared a picture of a bizarre a “self-awarded” trophy made by former officials as a celebration of Operation Arctic Frost, a scandalous investigation targeting President Donald J. Trump and his allies, including sitting members of Congress.
Patel shared the image of the 3D-printed, metallic colored trophy showing the raised letters “AF” separated by a lightning bolt under a dollar sign and sitting atop a map of the United States showing raised buildings as well as the White House and the Capitol, the scene of the so-called “insurrection” that was used to justify the wave of political persecution unleashed by the Biden regime.
People ask why I said the old FBI was a diseased temple.
This is what corruption looks like when it thinks no one is watching:

“People ask why I said the old FBI was a diseased temple,” Patel began. “This is what corruption looks like when it thinks no one is watching.”
“I disbanded CR-15 and removed the corrupt actors involved,” the director continued. “So when legacy media cries that President Trump’s FBI fired people and made sweeping changes, I have one response: You’re damn right we did.”
CR-15 is the name of the former “public corruption” squad that was disbanded in October 2025 after it was revealed that Smith’s out-of-control goons tracked the private phone calls and communications of sitting GOP lawmakers.
They tracked the communications of GOP Senators. They weaponized law enforcement against the American people. That era is over.
We fired those who acted unethically, dismantled the corrupt CR-15 squad, and launched an investigation.

“We are cleaning up a diseased temple three decades in the making — identifying the rot, removing those who weaponized law enforcement for political purposes and those who do not meet the standards of this mission while restoring integrity to the FBI. I promised reform, and I intend to deliver it,” Patel said in a statement to Fox News Digital at the time.
Also in October, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) revealed nearly 200 subpoenas used by the pre-Patel FBI seeking documents and testimony from hundreds of Republicans and GOP entities as a part of Arctic Frost, a sweeping political witch hunt that included spying on lawmakers.

“Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus,” Grassley said during a press conference. “Contrary to what Smith has said publicly, this was clearly a fishing expedition.”
Sen. Johnson described the subpoenas as “nothing short of a Biden administration enemies list.”
As the trophy shows, it was all a game to them.
