‘Y’all should be mad’: Republicans side with Dems to fund their pet projects and worse

The U.S. House voted on Thursday to fund a minibus (small bill) that was littered with outrageous pet projects, including money for illegal aliens, for leftist activist groups, and for pediatric gender transitions.

The only reason the minibus even passed was that dozens of turncoat House Republicans once again threw their GOP colleagues under the bus by siding with the Democrats.

According to the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC), the minibus included $500,000 for the so-called New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) in New York City. The organization reportedly provides courtroom assistance to illegal aliens.

The minibus also included a $3 million earmark to the Fifth Avenue Committee (FAC), a Brooklyn-based activist group that conducts Obama-type “community organizing” and “promotes increased welfare spending, economic and environmental regulations to burden private sector construction, and socialized housing.”

Also included in the minibus was a $2 million earmark proposed by Democrat Sens. Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff for a hospital in San Diego that provides so-called “gender affirming care.”

“The funds used for pediatric mental health will almost certainly go towards sponsoring the gender transition of children or at least free up other funds for that effort,” EPIC warned.

The only good news is that the hospital has reportedly, for the time being, stopped providing “gender-affirming care” to appease the Trump administration. Transgender activists plan to protest.

The bad news is that the minibus funds plenty of other hospitals that are still continuing to provide so-called “gender-affirming care.”

These include the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Maine and Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The minibus also boasts earmarks for ridiculous boondoggles like “Jacob’s Pillow” (???) and pedestrian safety signals in San Francisco.

The most outrageous part of the minibus was a rule requiring auto manufacturers to equip new cars with a government-controlled “kill switch.”

“The rule originated from Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, calling for a system that can ‘passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired,’ and then ‘prevent or limit motor vehicle operation if an impairment is detected,'” according to the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

Rep. Tim Burchett responded to the minibus passing, saying in a video posted to the social media site X that he was “incredibly disgusted.”

“We’re not following what President Trump asked us to do, and y’all should be mad because I’m mad,” he added. “I’m disgusted. You ought to be disgusted. This thing’s out of control.”

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna also responded angrily, blasting the turncoat Republicans for voting for the minibus but “NOT voting for the Act.”

“[T]he House will tell you they care about election integrity, meanwhile funding these bullshit projects, and let’s not forget giving money to hospitals that perform trans surgeries on kids,” she wrote to X. “You can find all the nasty stuff that they stick in these bills in the link below. I did not vote for this nonsense.”
