Kellyanne Conway spotted having private dinner with Andrew Cuomo

Talk about an unexpected pairing, former Trump White House aide Kellyanne Conway was spotted having dinner with Andrew Cuomo, the disgraced former governor of New York.

The odd couple had dinner Monday night at Il Postino on the Upper East Side, with photographers snapping away as they exited the establishment — mum was the word when Cuomo was asked about the relevance of the dinner, according to the New York Post.

And while they stopped short of a peck on the cheek to say goodbye, Cuomo did offer a parting wave — photos of the pair can be seen here.

Conway, who stepped down as former President Donald Trump’s adviser months before the 2020 election, was smiling like a schoolgirl on a first date and was reportedly heard wishing him a “Buon Natale,” which is Italian for Merry Christmas, as they parted. Not that there was anything to suggest a romantic angle — Cuomo is single and Conway did acknowledge earlier this year that her marriage to Trump-hating George Conway was on the rocks.

As for possible motivation, a source told The Washington Post that “both of them are in a war of relevance.”

Cuomo resigned last year amid a growing number of sexual misconduct allegations, after reaching the height of his political career during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic — this coming despite a disastrous record involving nursing homes where thousands died from the virus. At the time, many on the left were holding Cuomo up as presidential timber to take on Trump in 2020.

For the record, Conway has made it clear that she will not be working on the former president’s 2024 campaign.

The sighting prompted plenty of commentary from all sides, as social media users are all over the map. Here’s a quick sampling of the responses from Twitter:
