Despite mixed receptions, one celebrity friend of the president-elect suggested a “rebirth of our nation” as entertainers flocked to the capital for performances.

After President-elect Donald Trump’s Nov. 5 victory against Vice President Kamala Harris, a surge in celebratory end zone and sideline Trump dances presented an early signal that cancel culture concerns had gone by the wayside. Now with the likes of Snoop Dogg and Carrie Underwood taking heat for participating in the inauguration festivities, Kid Rock spoke to the “change in the air.”
Sunday, during a special edition of “Fox & Friends,” the rocker born Robert James Ritchie joined co-hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Lawrence Jones, and Brian Kilmeade ahead of his own four-song set rallying in support of the GOP leader.
“Man, it feels like the rebirth of our nation,” he expressed after Kilmeade asked about the feeling in Washington, D.C. “Felt like that at the UFC fight after the election, everybody was together, you know, walking to the ring there.”
“There’s just this overwhelming sense…you’ve heard it a million times, that America’s back,” continued the musician ahead of his live performance of a new version of “Bawitdaba” at Capital One Arena that included Trump saying “I am your voice!”
“Now they feel it’s safe to go in the water after dipping their toe in it for four to eight years. I mean, welcome to the party, like I’ve said. Better to have them on board than not,” Ritchie added before arguing, “There’s a whole change in the air, there’s a whole shift in everything.”
The take from the artist who went double platinum with the album “The History of Rock” followed backlash against Snoop Dogg who took the stage Friday at the Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., and posed with numerous public supporters of the president-elect.
Profanity-laced reactions bashed the rapper-turned-icon as he was branded a “disappointment” and a “sellout” along with rapper Nelly.

“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” Snoop Dogg told UK’s The Times in 2024. “He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”
Without specifying the GOP leader’s reforms like the First Step Act or how he’d led on the economy, Ritchie went on to state of those now celebrating with Trump, “They saw what he did the first time. And when you really look at the facts and the numbers and how great it was, and it’s only going to be better from there. The feeling’s everywhere.”
“The excitement, especially if you’re on our side, it’s through the roof. But I think people, all reasonable people, I feel, you know, are understanding, just like if we would have got a reasonable Democrat,” he went on ahead of Underwood’s planned Inauguration Day performance. “Like, it’s okay, we think differently on a lot of things, but if you’re a reasonable person, and I really got to stress ‘reasonable,’ because Lord knows there are some fruitcakes out there.”
