Kid Rock has a reminder for ‘angry’ Michelle Obama over skipping Trump’s inauguration

Grammy-nominated singer Kid Rock reminded former first lady Michelle Obama about “respect” for the office of president after it was reported she would skip Monday’s inauguration ceremony.

The wife of former President Barack Obama will be one of the more noticeable absences as President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office on January 20, proving that Democrats’ meltdowns over “democracy” being threatened were all political theater.

Speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Thursday, Kid Rock – whose real name is Robert James Ritchie – jabbed the former first lady and said she “seems a little angry.”

“I would kindly remind her that years back when [Barack] Obama was first elected, I did not vote for him, but they asked me to play the inauguration, and I played it and I went,” he said on “Jesse Watters Primetime” Thursday.

The 54-year-old songwriter even recalled having a “good time” despite the politics.

“I had a good time. I went out of respect for the presidency so I would kindly remind Miss Michelle about that,” added the singer who will be performing at the “Make America Great Again Rally” at Capital One Arena.

Kevin O’Leary of “Shark Tank” fame agreed.

Michelle Obama also did not show up at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week in Washington, D.C. though her husband was in attendance, making headlines and setting off the left for his chummy interaction with Trump seated beside him.

“Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former first lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration,” read a statement from the Office of Barack and Michelle Obama.

There was no reason given for why the former first lady would not be attending the inauguration, however. Former Presidents George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, along with their wives will be in attendance.

Michelle Obama is “saving some credibility” by not attending, according to a longtime aide, The Hill reported.

“She campaigned the hardest against him personally, of anyone,” the aide said.

“She meant every word she said on the campaign trail with every fiber of her being,” one source told the outlet. “And she’s no hypocrite.”

“There’s no overstating her feelings about [Trump]. She’s not one to plaster on a pleasant face and pretend for protocol’s sake,” one source told People magazine. “Michelle doesn’t do anything because it’s expected or it’s protocol or it’s tradition.”

“She served in the public eye and did all the public good that she could for eight years as first lady,” the source said. “You’ll see her when she has a project or cause to promote but she doesn’t feel the need to be a public figure anymore.”
