Fox News host Laura Ingraham called out the effort by one of the largest teachers’ unions in the nation to place restrictive controls on the type of information that students are permitted to view under the pretense of combatting “misinformation” as the political left moves to retain its stranglehold over the content that is permissible in America’s classrooms.
Fierce backlash erupted after the news broke that the American Federation of Teachers would be buying licenses for members from a sketchy “fact-checker” in the latest assault on freedom of information as the political left seeks to censor all news that runs counter to their narrative.
AFT’s president Randi Weingarten announced that the union would be purchasing 1.7 million NewsGuard licenses which will then be distributed to tens of millions of students nationwide in the most aggressive move yet to combat the growing movement by parents to reassert control over the ideologues that have commandeered the pubic education system to facilitate the indoctrination of impressionable young minds.
During Thursday’s edition of “The Ingraham Angle,” she opened her segment on the “most odious people on the left” and their newest obsession with a clip of “self-appointed misinformation officer” Brian Stelter of CNN’s creepy visit to an eighth-grade classroom and the suspicious timing that coincided with the AFT’s partnering with NewsGuard to “stamp out” misinformation.
“This is ironic, two fronts right,” she said, “first because Weingarten and her cronies, all they do is spread fear and lies to keep schools closed, make everyone paranoid about COVID, even little kids, is that misinformation Randi?”
She added, “And secondly, the founder of NewsGuard once called the New York Post Hunter Biden laptop story, quote, a hoax likely perpetrated by the Russians,” an example of the type of “fact-checking” that students will be subjected to from a company that boasts ex-NSA/CIA head and virulent Trump critic, retired Gen. Michael Hayden as an advisor.
“It’s not just the classrooms that are being targeted by these self-appointed misinformation czars, even the COVID overlords are getting into the act. Just this week, Biden’s surgeon general who is fairly creepy, just called for a social media crackdown on any dissent from the CDC,” Ingraham continued, referring to Vivek Murthy, another of the Obama regime retreads whose political careers were resurrected by the current administration.
“The spread of COVID, the spread of misinformation, who determines what is misinformation?” She asked, “This isn’t about public health, this is about erasing ANY information on ANY narrative of the left that might disrupt their supposed truth.”
Ingraham later brought in conservative author and GOP Senate candidate J.D. Vance to further discuss the cloaking of outright censorship in the guise of preventing misinformation.
“At the end of the day these people are trying to control the debate in this country because they know that they can’t win in a fair fight,” he said. “Think about the history of this, when has the group of people trying to censor the debate, censor the narrative, ever been the good guys? They never are.”
Earlier this week, the extreme leftist zealot Weingarten who has used her union’s muscle to shut down schools and force children to wear stifling face masks during COVID touted the AFT’s partnership with NewsGuard.

According to an AFT press release, “Under the terms of the pathbreaking licensing agreement, coinciding with National News Literacy Week the AFT’s 1.7 million members, tens of millions of kids they teach, and their families, can now receive free, real-time ‘traffic light’ news ratings and detailed ‘Nutrition Label’ reviews, via a licensed copy of NewsGuard’s browser extension, whenever they search the web for news and information.”
“For years, educators have fought battles against suspect sourcing, with their students often misled by dubious outlets and spam sites posing as ‘news.’ NewsGuard offers a practical solution, alerting students and educators to those sites while also providing a valuable lesson in media literacy,” the union added.
On Friday, Darren Beattie of Revolver News praised an excellent piece from BizPacReview shedding sunlight on the “NewsGuard scam” and the involvement of the shady disgraced intelligence boss Hayden who misled Congress before moving on to his post-government career as a corporate board member and cable news pundit.

“NewsGuard conveniently fails to disclose conflicts of interest in its news evaluation that might potentially impact the profits of the aforementioned pharmaceutical companies. Yet, a key NewsGuard selling point is that they employ journalists to determine if a website is appropriate to consider as opposed to outsourcing critical censors to Al algorithms.
“Keep in mind! Journalists’ coverage of the Trump administration was 92% negative and 96% of journalists made donations to Hillary Clinton as compared to Donald Trump in 2016. Fair coverage? More like a methodology of manipulation! Dr. Goebbels would be impressed!” He added, “Most disconcerting is the stinted propaganda being passed as facts. And equally disquieting is the fact that our younger, more impressionable Americans are noticeably impacted by this ploy!”
In addition to Hayden who was appointed by Bill Clinton to head up the NSA and whose career trajectory was unaffected despite his leadership of the domestic surveillance agency on and before September 11, 2001, arguably the most consequential intelligence failure in U.S. history, NewsGuard’s advisors include activist members of the Obama administration including former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan as well as ex-Homeland Security boss Tom Ridge, the man behind the color-coded terror alert system that was used during the Bush-Cheney years.
In the finest tradition of some of the most oppressive totalitarian regimes in the planet’s history, the control of information along with the definition of what is the “truth” by far-left elements within the government and the “public-private partnership” represents an unprecedented threat to America as the nation’s freedom hangs in the balance.
