Lauren Boebert ‘excited’ over Trump arraignment: ‘It only ensures he will be the 47th president’

Donald Trump was arraigned for the third time on Thursday after special counsel Jack Smith hit the former president with four federal charges for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, and for allegedly plotting to overturn the 2020 election.

With the leading 2024 Republican presidential candidate expected to also be indicted in Georgia on charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn that state’s 2020 election results, it seems clear that Democrats have decided to throw everything they can against the wall in hopes something will stick and on that note, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) sees this as a positive for Trump.

Boebert appeared on Newsmax and said the latest arraignment will “ensure” that Trump wins in 2024.

“This is election interference at its finest,” the GOP lawmaker said. “The DOJ is no longer the Department of Justice. It’s the ‘Department of Injustice’ and with this arraignment, Joe Biden, his DOJ, has officially become his new campaign headquarters, and Jack Smith is his new campaign manager. But despite all of this, they are trying to keep him off the ballot because they know that he is the front runner.”

Yet, Boebert believes this will prove beneficial to Trump’s election bid.

“I’m actually really excited over this arraignment because it only ensures that President Trump will be the 47th president of the United States,” she added. “Because the American people are sick of this. They are sick of the Democrats’ dirty tricks.”

While it may appear that Democrats have removed the blindfold from Lady Justice and are now using it to attempt to choke out their chief political rival, and miscarriage of justice that is seen far and wide, it remains to be seen whether this will rally more voters to Trump’s cause.

The former president was indicted for the third time this week, charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.

Smith also indicted Trump in Florida for allegedly mishandling classified documents, which supposedly includes sensitive documents on nuclear capabilities — he was hit with 40 felony counts, including charges of retaining classified information, obstructing justice and making false statements.

Trump became the first former U.S. president in history to face criminal charges when Democratic prosecutor Alvin Bragg dropped a 34-count felony indictment stemming from hush money payments allegedly made during the 2016 presidential campaign to bury claims of an affair leveled by porn star Stormy Daniels.
