Leftists are targeting Home Depot over the Trump administration’s enforcement of federal immigration law with a typically stupid and futile protest that is being ridiculed on X.
In a video posted to social media, a long line of losers with way too much time on their hands is seen in one of the home improvement supply giant’s stores in Monrovia, California, where they are purchasing “ice scrapers” and immediately returning them, inconveniencing actual customers by clogging the lines.
Are you KIDDING me? Anti-ICE protestors are now attempting to disrupt sales at the Home Depot by purchasing ice scrapers, then returning them
These people really have nothing better to do. LOL pic.twitter.com/0zcGioEnJE

The video shows the line of activists snaking past the Christmas decorations as they waited to buy and return the items, with some of them carrying anti-ICE signs and dressed up in the signature orange aprons worn by Home Depot employees.
According to the Los Angeles Times, nearly a hundred leftists participated in the ridiculous exercise, which was undertaken to pressure Home Depot to “scrape ICE out of their stores,” according to National Day Laborer Organizing Network political director Erika Andiola.
“Demonstrators flocked to the location, some wearing makeshift aprons, similar to those worn by Home Depot employees, with the phrase ‘ICE out of Home Depot.’ Others used the orange Home Depot buckets as drums as they marched through the store,” the LA Times reported.
“Whether the corporation wants to admit it or not, Home Depot has become ground zero for this cruel, vicious immigration enforcement that’s taking place in our country,” said the group’s co-Executive Director Pablo Alvarado.
If the protesters believed that they were making a point about the unfairness of deporting illegal aliens, all that they really did was showcase their own idiocy with the stunt after it was pointed out by some X users that the “ice scrapers” were actually putty knives.
Those are disposable putty knives. What a bunch of dumbasses.. pic.twitter.com/B2VOELLm4j

They’re not smart enough to know that it’s a putty knife not an ice scraper.
Also Home Depot is not in charge of ICE or the illegals hanging out in the parking lot. pic.twitter.com/znlDtpy6GA— Eric Menefee (@4real_Emenefee) November 23, 2025
Buying putty knives and calling them ice scrapers ♂️

What kind of stupidity is this. It’s a new breed

This is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen

Buying ice scrapers just to return them isn’t “activism” it’s pointless theater for people who want attention more than results. If this is the grand strategy, the movement’s out of ideas.

California protest strategy: inconvenience employees making $17/hr. Victory achieved.

Imagine having this amount of spare time on your hands. Such losers. Time for conservatives to shop extra at Home Depot to offset these crazy liberals!
Liberals in California are standing in line at Home Depot to purchase a single 17-cent scraper, only to return it and get back… pic.twitter.com/E5h8DrVitf

Nothing better to do than buy putty knives just to return them? Y’all are literal toddlers pitching fits in Home Depot over immigration laws. Get a job and a life.

The misconception among leftists and low-information members of the public that Home Depot is working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to apprehend and deport illegals has been reinforced by Democrat politicians and their cohorts in the media, despite it being completely untrue.
“We are not coordinating with ICE or Border Patrol, and we’re not involved in the operations. We aren’t notified that immigration enforcement activities are going to happen, and often, we don’t know operations have taken place until they’re over,” Home Depot Corporate Communications Manager George Lane told the LA Times in an email.
“We’re required to follow all federal and local rules and regulations in every market where we operate,” he said.
