Boston’s Democratic mayor came under fire for her response to the deadly shooting of a knife-wielding suspect over the weekend.
Mayor Michelle Wu offered sympathy for those “impacted” by the incident but sparked backlash with her condolences to the family of the suspect who allegedly tried to stab two people on Saturday before an off-duty officer shot and killed him.
“My condolences, and all of our thoughts, are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost,” Wu said. “And I’m also thinking of all the people who were impacted here today in one of the busier parts of the city with this tragedy.”

“I’m glad that the officer is safe and very grateful for a quick response from all of our first responders here again,” Wu also said.
“The individual was trying to stab the two individuals in the store, and the off-duty officer identified himself as a police officer, instructing them to drop the weapon, at which point the individual did not comply,” Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said during the press conference.
“The officer discharged his weapon to stop the threat, and the individual was struck. The armed individual was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” Cox said, adding that he was “proud of police officers who activate themselves, whether it’s on duty or off duty, to try to save lives.”
Boston Police Detectives Union praised the off-duty officer for his actions.
“Last night, an ‘off duty’ member of the Boston Police recognized a threat, activated himself and took decisive action to end that threat, likely saving countless lives in the process,” read a statement from the union.
Wu’s remarks ignited instant criticism on social media.
“Condolences from the mayor of Boston – wait for it – to a knife-wielding man trying to kill people!” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) wrote on X. “Thankfully this guy was stopped in his tracks by a brave law enforcement officer.”
“How exactly did Boston vote for this again?” asked Fox News contributor Joe Concha, who is a former Boston resident. “I lived in the Back Bay area. It was one of the safest parts of the city. And she’s offering condolences????”
Other X users also ripped into the leftist mayor.
Boston: where law-abiding citizens get ignored, but criminals get condolences. A knife-wielding attacker threatens lives, police do their job, and Mayor Wu rushes to sympathize with the criminal. This city needs leadership that protects its residents, not excuses criminals.

The criminals are the new victims. Insanity.

Everything is backwards in Democrat-run cities.
Remember, the Boston mayor had a Christmas party where white people weren’t allowed.
She’s out of her mind.
