‘Long live the king’: Trump gloats after MSNBC bests Fox News, says MAGA embrace is ratings cure

Former President Donald J. Trump has regularly criticized Fox News over what he seems to believe is biased coverage against him and the news that the conservative network got knocked out of its top primetime spot by left-wing rival MSNBC drew a gloating response from the 2024 GOP frontrunner.

It was reported that Fox News relinquished its stranglehold on primetime viewership after 120 weeks, a result that may be at least partially attributable to the ouster of its most popular host Tucker Carlson the 8:00 p.m. time slot, angering many viewers who vowed to boycott as a result.

The news was shared on Tuesday by A.J. Katz, a reporter who has his thumb on the pulse of the cable news industry and was picked up by other outlets which also reported Fox’s slippage in the ratings.

One of the reports caught the eye of Trump who crowed in vindication over MSNBC’s at least temporary overtaking of a network he once praised but is now feuding with.

“Well, it’s happened, just as I predicted. The Golden Goose that was so beautiful is being slaughtered by Fools. MAGA has left Fox for more promising ‘prairies.’ Long live the King. The only solution for Fox News is to bring back Trump Allies and MAGA—Backing No Personality Ron DeSanctimonious has been a disaster….,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“….Also—Do not broadcast negative ads against Republican and Conservative Candidates by Perverts and Misfits like the Failing Lincoln Project, and others. Roger Ailes never allowed that—And neither should a new and less successful Fox. Big turnoff! MSDNC and Fake News CNN will never allow positive Republican ads or hit pieces on Crooked Joe Biden. Fox must get smart fast before it’s too late. Only “TRUMP” can save Fox News. It is in freefall!” Trump added, paying tribute to the legendary Roger Ailes who built the network into a force and jabbing the collection of disgraced D.C. grifters like Rick Wilson at the Lincoln Project.

Last September, the former president took great exception with Fox’s airing of a Lincoln Project ad that insulted his voters as suckers who he was ripping off.

“The Perverts and Lowlifes of the Lincoln Project are back on, where else, Fox News. I thought they ran away to the asylum after their last catastrophic campaign, with charges made against them that were big time sleaze, and me getting many millions more votes in 2020 than I got in 2016,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“The Paul Ryun run Fox only has high standards for ‘Trump’ ads, but not for anyone else. The Perverts should not be allowed to ‘false advertise,’ and Fox News should not allow it to happen. See you all in Court!!!” Trump added.

While Trump and Fox News have had better times, he has recently been featured in interviews on the network with Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Carlson.
