Madison Cawthorn pledges loyalty to Trump; ‘I will follow this man until the day I die’ … with one caveat

The blame game over the disappointing midterm election results for Republicans who were expecting a “red wave” but barely eked out a razor-thin House majority while failing to retake the Senate has already led to many cutting and running on former President Donald J. Trump, but Madison Cawthorn isn’t among those jumping ship.

The outgoing conservative congressman who lost his North Carolina GOP primary earlier this year was in attendance at Mar-a-Lago for Trump’s big announcement that he would be running for the White House in 2024, a candidacy that could make for a contentious primary process as the party establishment seeks to move away from the MAGA movement.

In a video that he recorded on the night of the event, Rep. Cawthorn jabbed fellow Republicans for standing by the former and perhaps future POTUS and emphasized his loyalty to Trump whom he said he would support unless some “terrible” information emerged that would compel him to do otherwise.

“I will follow this man until the day I die, you know, barring some terrible information,” he said while inside a vehicle leaving Mar-a-Lago.

“This man has bled for us, this man has fought for us, this man has put his entire career and put an entire life, he’s put an entire persona – everything about him, everything about the Trump family, the children, him, his wife – he’s put it all on the line for every single one of us,” he said.

“So to the conservatives who were talking about ‘oh well, maybe his time’s over’ where’s your loyalty?” Cawthorn asked. “How can you look yourself in the mirror as a man and say oh well,  I’ll turn my back on somebody, you know, when the going gets tough or when it’s not a sure thing.”

“This man fought for you,” he continued. “This man gave us a strong nation, he had a strong foreign trade, he had strong trade policies, he got out of foreign interventionism, he stopped spending, overpaying for NATO and for all of our alliances.”

“He made the world fear us and you know what, I don’t really want a president who is just loved and gonna be hugged on and wear the exact same clothes that some freaking communist dictator does in China,” referring to President Joe Biden’s ridiculous Chairman Mao costume that he wore when he groveled before Chinese dictator Xi Jinping

“I want a president who people are terrified of, who’s gonna push people out of the way when he’s walking up because he’s the United States of freakin’ America and he represents every single one of us,” he said.

The 27-year-old Cawthorn will be leaving North Carolina after his current term expires and has reportedly bought a new home in the free state of Florida where the Republican “red tsunami” did occur, leaving Sunshine State Democrats virtually powerless and increasingly irrelevant.

“Cawthorn’s new 2,281 sq. ft. home in Cape Coral, Florida, set him back $1,120,000. The home features three bedrooms, a pool and a spa, according to Realtor.com,” Fox News reported.
