Madison Cawthorn warns of emasculation of American men, challenges Gen Z in no-holds-barred speech

In what could be his farewell speech on the House floor, U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) is scolding the soy boys among us who are putting the country on the “precipice of disaster.”

“It used to be a rite of passage in this country for young men to be punched in the face when they did something stupid. Our nation used to believe that there was strength and purpose in taking the hits, learning from your mistakes and growing through adversity,” the steadfast Trump supporter asserted at the beginning of his approximately one-minute oration on Wednesday.

“America is weak. Her sons are sickly and her daughters are decrepit. Our country now faces the consequences of enabling a participation trophy society,” Cawthorn, 27, continued. “We are no longer the United States; we’ve become the nanny state. Our young men are taught that weakness is strength, that delicacy is desirable, and that being a soft metrosexual is more valuable than training the mind, body, and soul.”

He went on to pose a challenge primarily to Generation Z:

Social media has weakened us, siphoning our men of their will to fight. To rise in a noble manner, square their jaws, and charge once more into the breach of life to defend what they love. So on this precipice of disaster, I ask the young men in this nation a question: Will you sit behind the screen while the storied tales of your forefathers become myth? Or will you stand resolute against the dying light of America’s Golden Age. Will you reclaim your masculinity, will become a man to be feared, to be respected, to be looked up to, or will you let this nation’s next generation be its final generation?’

Cawthorn is on the receiving end of Twitter ridicule for his remarks; watch/listen to the brief address embedded below and draw your own conclusions.

Regardless of one’s opinion of Cawthorn or the content of this particular oration, much has been written and talked about in the context of the declining levels of testosterone in men for various reasons as well as the disturbing obesity rate across the generations.

Poor physical conditioning (plus its effect on the healthcare delivery system or even military recruitment, among other societal impacts) is hardly limited to the cohort that spends all or most of its spare time playing video games.

Some critics of the contemporary culture in America and in the West generally argue that the ideological trendline encourages women to be more masculine and men to be more feminine.

Cawthorn has reportedly purchased an expensive home in Cape Coral, Fla., in the Fort Myers area, but is still reportedly a registered North Carolina voter.

The soon-to-be ex-politician is obviously young enough to seek elected office again in the future in whatever state in which he ultimately establishes residency, assuming that pathway can reopen, and his baggage doesn’t pose an obstacle.

After the GOP establishment turned against him after several controversies, the freshman congressman wound up narrowly losing a Republican primary for the seat previously held by Mark Meadows in the western North Carolina area.

Primary winner Chuck Edwards, a state senator, went on to win the 2022 general election in the red enclave.

According to the Asheville Citizen-Times in a story published in mid-November, Cawthorn has been mostly a no-show on Capitol Hill since the primary loss.

“Congressman Madison Cawthorn…has apparently vacated his Washington and district offices nearly two months before the end of his term. On Nov. 16, Cawthorn’s Washington office no longer had his name posted outside and had been cleaned out. A call to the office reached a voicemail system inviting 11th District constituents to leave a message, saying a staff member would call them back.”

His local office back home also went dark, the news outlet added.
