Two dudes duked it out at a crowded health club in a video that has gone viral.
“This is why I don’t go to the gym at 5 p.m.,” Twitter user @ChickenColeman quipped in sharing the brief footage of the brawl that has received nearly six million views as of this writing.
The dueling duo, one wearing red and the other decked out (as it were) in a white T-shirt, started out squaring up, then throwing punches, some of which landed with force. They subsequently begin grappling and kicking, while bystanders mostly watched or filmed the encounter with their smartphones
Some gymgoers eventually broke it up, fortunately, after a woman on her own had tried to intervene.
It’s unclear at this point whether any police were called to the scene or whether either of the combatants were injured.
In the end, it looked like the red-shirt guy — who seemingly had delivered an initial knockout blow — may have gotten the worst of it.
As Outkick observed, the man in white “doesn’t start strong, but he finishes with a bang, throwing several haymakers over the last 20 seconds.”

“A spokesperson with Fitness Connection confirmed to Fox News Digital Friday that the incident took place inside one of its locations Tuesday,” Fox News reported.
“She declined to name the exact location of the facility, citing the privacy of members. ‘We are aware of an incident that occurred inside one of our locations on November 29, 2022,’ a statement from Fitness Connection said. ‘As always, the health and safety of our members and Teammates is of the utmost importance and Fitness Connection strongly condemns any acts of violence, especially within our facilities.'”
Based on its website, the Fitness Connection appears to operate gyms mostly in Texas and North Carolina
Parenthetically, in this litigious world, along with the risk of collateral damage, can you really blame anyone for not stepping in immediately?
The cause of the pumped-up and potentially dangerous bout is currently undetermined.
That said, if you are the type of person who goes to the gym with the intention of getting in and out expeditiously, various annoyances can occur.
This includes, for example, a fitness fanatic dominating a machine for an inordinate period of time or the type of chatty person who ties up a station without actually using it.
These kinds of behaviors seldom, if ever, result in a violent altercation, however, because most people throw on their headphones and move to another machine or free-weight rack rather than throwing hands.
The good news about an incident that cynics perhaps might claim gives a new meaning to dumbbell is that at least it didn’t occur at a fast-food eatery or at an airport/on a plane.
Here is a just a small sample of the reaction to it on Twitter:
30 seconds is a lifetime in a street fight

The girl changed the fight. White had no chance what so ever until she intervened.
Red owned him until she came along.— Dirty South TV (@DirtySouthTV) December 2, 2022
And everyone just stood and watch them? Took the brave lady to try and step in. At this rate people should just build their own mini gym at home.

See I don’t like fighting in a gym because I don’t want to get banned from the gym. If I have to fight in a gym? I’m going to make sure the ban is absolutely worth it.
