New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has been tight-lipped amid a new, massive homeless encampment plaguing New Yorkers.
The encampment has grown to include 12 blocks on Manhattan’s West Side near the Intrepid Museum, the New York Post reports. When confronted about the mess, Mamdani simply said he would “look into it,” which isn’t enough urgency for those being impacted. Locals are demanding City Hall do something about the “lawless shantytown” but if Mamdani’s casual response is anything to go by, it may be a while before people see any improvement.
“I don’t think he’s done anything,” Diana Khabbaz explained to The Post on Monday. “I think it’s still the same. There might even be more people right now on the street.
“You see people walking around half naked in the street. They are smoking whatever they’re smoking. You see needles on the street every 20 feet. Sometimes you see a homeless person. And all day long, all night, a lot by the parks, there are a lot of people and there are tons of tents, and people are sleeping everywhere.”
Saritha Komatireddy, who is running for New York Attorney General, condemned the deplorable conditions.

“I was on the ground today at the growing homeless encampment outside the Intrepid Museum. What I saw was nothing short of unacceptable: unsafe conditions, open disorder, and a complete failure of leadership. While Zohran Mamdani says he’ll ‘look into it’ and Letitia James continues to look the other way, businesses, families, tourists, and even the people living in these encampments are paying the price. As Attorney General, I’ll fight to restore safe, clean streets, enforce the law, and ensure those struggling with homelessness get the treatment and services they need,” she wrote.

Officials are too busy enjoying their new pay raise to worry about homeless encampments.

There has to be a non-profit that can load them up on flatbed & busses and moved them to Gracie Mansion.
Where do I make my donation?

We get the government we deserve. You hired a commie. Or more likely, you didn’t vote and let someone else hire a commie. Cry harder.
