Media breathlessly covers migrants bused to VP’s door, ignore San Diego’s desperate cry for help

While the national media is up in arms every time a Republican governor sends a busload of illegal immigrants into a blue city or state, with the story dominating the news cycle amid cries of immorality and exploitation, these same outlets sit on their hands when its the federal government doing the transporting.

The age of Trump will be looked back upon for two key events, the revelation of how compromised the U.S. intelligence apparatus is, politically speaking, and just how blatantly corrupt the media truly is — prior to Donald Trump the corporate media at least feigned impartiality.

Journalists who consider it their moral duty to do everything they can to destroy Trump also apply that creed to running interference for Joe Biden, and when it comes to the wide open southern border, where more than 5 million illegal immigrants have crossed under President Biden in less than 2 years, he needs all the cover he can get.

And while reporters were clutching their pearls over Texas Gov. Greg Abbott dropping off a busload of illegal immigrants —  the media refers to them as “asylum seekers” — on the doorstep of Vice President Kamala Harris’ home at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. on Christmas Eve, mum was the word when the federal government was dropping off migrants at the very same time in California.

Jim Desmond, a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors from the Fifth District, took to Twitter on Monday to slam the feds for dropping off 646 migrants over the prior three days, which includes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

“Our shelters are stretched beyond capacity. This is unsustainable and the Federal Government doesn’t seem to care,” Desmond added.

The Biden administration understands when Title 42 ends, which is expected to happen soon, there may very well be a run on the border by thousands of migrants perched on the Mexican side of the border awaiting the lifting of the pandemic-era restriction. Any efforts now to clear out backlogs of migrants along the border will better position Border Patrol to handle the expected onslaught.

In responding to Desmond’s tweet, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin reported, “Federal source tells me these migrants are overflow coming from Yuma, AZ and and as far as El Paso, TX, known as ‘laterals’ & released by Border Patrol.”

The county official said in a follow-up tweet that another 190 migrants were dropped on Monday:

“CBP releases noncitizens to service providing nongovernmental organizations and other sites in border communities in coordination with state and local partners,” CBP representative Gerrelaine Alcordo said in a statement to NBC7 San Diego. “CBP works diligently to ensure that releases are conducted in a safe manner and that all noncitizens released from custody are provided essential support upon release and may access transportation to continue to their destinations.”

Desmond shared video of a local news report on Monday to call on the Biden administration to “step up and deal with the crisis at the border.”
