Megyn Kelly sounds off on Trump arrest after everything Hillary and Hunter got away with

Megyn Kelly continues to speak against the historic occasion of indicting a former president as Donald Trump is set to be arraigned in New York City on Tuesday to face trumped-up charges filed by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Kelly said recently that Trump “does well when he’s being persecuted,” but she was adamant that the country will not do as well.

“I think it’s horrible … I think it helps Trump politically … but it’s horrible for the country,” she said Monday on her podcast. “And it’s gonna be horrible for him to go through. And it’s going to be horrible for us to go through.”

New York-based trial attorney Arthur Aidala was a guest on Kelly’s podcast and he stressed there is “no victim” in the case against Trump and questioned why Bragg would “abuse” his prosecutorial discretion and bring charges against the former president.

Pointing to Hillary Clinton, Kelly said later that “it’s just so aggravating that she has gotten away with so much,” detailing Clinton’s actions in getting the FBI involved in the Russian collusion fiasco.

“We just went through this whole thing where she used her lawyer to go into the FBI and try to sic them on Donald Trump and say that he was using some Russian bank to hide his nefarious dealings. She has been using lawyers to do her dirty work forever, and we just generally haven’t had a practice of criminalizing the behavior of somebody in her position,” she explained. “Yes, we’ve sniffed around the lawyers from time to time, but this is everything with him is different.”

Kelly also noted that Hunter Biden has still not been arrested despite a number of scandals involving alleged criminal behavior, stressing that such double standards are frustrating.

“Why isn’t Hunter Biden under arrest? Why has it taken three-plus years for us to figure out that Hunter Biden’s committed crimes with respect to drugs and guns and he lied explicitly on his gun application form,” she asked. “In the case of Joe Biden, it’s because they won’t investigate. They have refused to look into him in this relationship and in the case of Hunter Biden we have no answers. We don’t know why and so it’s hard to get worked up about the Donald Trump subpoena.”

On the issue of mishandling classified documents, Kelly said she was not defending Trump – keep in mind, Clinton was not pursued despite having transmitted classified documents on her private server.

“I’m not defending. If he got a subpoena and he had documents, that’s not OK,” she said. “As a lawyer, you don’t have to persuade me. You’re supposed to treat subpoenas very respectfully … It’s just so aggravating because she [Hillary Clinton] has gotten away with so much.”
