Melania takes audience questions on ‘F&F’, roasts ‘backstabbers’ in last admin

Former First Lady Melania Trump had choice words for the backstabbers in the White House who abandoned loyalty as soon as they left the administration.

Mrs. Trump was live on the “Fox & Friends” set Tuesday where she spoke with Fox News hosts and answered questions from a live audience. The former first lady promoted her new book, “Melania,” which took the top slot on the New York Times best-seller list and spoke about many issues both personal and political.

At one point, co-host Brian Kilmeade asked if she was “anxious” to be first lady again if her husband wins the election next week. Mrs. Trump explained she had no anxiety about a return to the White House since there would be a sense of familiarity.

“This time is different. I have more experience and knowledge,” she said. “I was in the White House before. When you go in, you know what to expect. You know what kind of people you need to get – people on your team that have the same vision as me.”

“In your book, you talk about people that stabbed you in the back and let you down,” Kilmeade said. “How did that feel to get your voice to this story?”

“It is important people hear my story. It is a lot of misinformation out there,” the former model said, adding that she wrote her memoir to get that across.

She also rose above the mudslinging and said she wished her detractors the best but still gave a stinging rebuke of actions such as those by her former friend and adviser, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who published a book titled “Melania and Me,” sharing recordings of private conversations with CNN.

“I wish the best to all these people… they need to heal. I wish them all the best. They should be there for the right reasons,” Trump said.

When Kilmeade noted that most people would harbor anger over the mistreatment, Mrs. Trump agreed, calling it a “betrayal.”

“They showed the world who they are. They need to go to sleep at night and they know what they did,” she replied.

“To tape the first lady of the United States on phone calls and release them to the public, and edit those phone calls,” she continued. “It is a disgrace and should never happen to anybody.”

Mrs. Trump was also asked why she decided to become more visible now in her husband’s campaign and why she chose to make an appearance to introduce him at his New York City rally at Madison Square Garden.

“It was an incredible place,” she said of the iconic venue where many former presidents, including Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, have held events.

“I love New York City and I think people to hear from me on that day, the arena Madison Square Garden, the support we have, and I want to support my husband as well. So I was there for him and for everybody else,” she said prompting applause.

The former first lady also responded to questions from the audience, relaying that she and the former president will be watching Election Day results come in from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.

She also shared some wisdom for young mothers as one grandmother of seven in the audience asked her what she would advise.

“Lead with love and take a child as an individual,” she said, adding to be sure “you as a mother, you are healed” so your issues and trauma are not transferred to your child.
