Michelle Obama could ‘sneak her way’ into 2024 race NY Post columnist says

A New York Post gossip columnist has gone viral for suggesting former first lady Michelle Obama may run for president in 2024.

According to gossip columnist Cindy Adams, the signs of Obama’s potential candidacy are all there in plain sight for people to see.

“Biden won’t debate. Can’t. Our codger-in-chief can’t even read the prewritten script in front of him fast enough to pronounce the words. So, forget him — which most of us already have,” Adams wrote for the Post on Wednesday.

“Coming back now — Obama. Not him. HER! We’ve heard this drumbeat for a while. Now it’s louder. Plans are to grab Michelle for the Democratic presidency choice. Making the music is Barack the orchestra leader,” she added.

To be clear, Adams offered no proof in her column that there are plans “to grab Michelle for the Democratic presidency choice.” Obama has herself repeatedly said she has no interest in running for president:

“Michelle says she’s ‘terrified’ Trump will win,” Adams continued in her column. “No casual burp. Was programmed. She’s sent a survey to Dem biggies asking their feelings about her candidacy.”

“Obama’s quietly angling for Joe to go. He’s weaseled up to this for a few weeks. Mouths aren’t talking. But mouths are knowing,” she added.

Note that there have been no public reports about Obama surveying Dems about her potential candidacy.

Nevertheless, Adams continued her column by then stunningly claiming that Obama had admitted she intends to run as recently as last summer and that the Obamas — including former President Barack Obama — are now encouraging President Joe Biden to drop out.

“Over one year ago, summer of 2022, she was in NYC meeting several big hedge CEOs, and said, ‘I am running, and I am asking for your support,'” Adams alleged. “The Obamas are now nudging to force SloMo Joe to go. Drop out. It’s like who else is there?”

“A Joe flop-out offers probability Michelle could wiggle in. Obama’s negotiating to make that happen. Pay attention to them gurgling and burbling about the election. About concern over Joe’s crappy polling, about bad Trump, about everything but Bad Bad LeRoy Brown,” she continued.

It’s true that Obama has been publicly fretting about the 2024 presidential election:

“Those are the things that keep me up, because you don’t have control over them,” she recently said on a podcast interview about the prospect of former President Donald Trump winning reelection. “And you wonder, where are we in this? Where are our hearts? What’s gonna happen in this next election?”

“I am terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted,” she added.

Responding to Adams’ column, many on the right were quick to entertain the theory:

Adams isn’t the only one convinced of a Michelle Obama run. So is popular podcaster Megyn Kelly, former Trump administration adviser Peter Navarro, and political consultant Matt Schlapp.

There’s also conservative radio show host Glenn Beck.

“My 2024 election prediction: Democrats will utilize their superdelegate process to remove Biden from the general ballot. And who would they put in his place? Well, Michelle Obama, of course!”  he recently tweeted.

Look:

Standing in opposition to Beck and the rest of them is Rep. Byron Donalds, who last Sunday told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that “no,” he doesn’t believe Obama has any intention of running.

“I actually think she enjoys being private and enjoying the private life. I think she wants to comment like Barack Obama wants to comment, but I don’t think she’s running,” he said.
