Mike Lindell vows to sue Kevin McCarthy for releasing Jan 6 footage exclusively to Tucker Carlson

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has received a lot of heat for his decision to exclusively release 41,000 hours of surveillance footage from the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to controversial Fox News host Tucker Carlson, but he probably wasn’t counting on a lawsuit over it from MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

But that’s exactly what McCarthy is getting, Lindell told “War Room” host Steve Bannon, even if he has to “run this all the way to the Supreme Court.”

McCarthy gave the mountain of footage to Carlson, Bannon countered, “because he has the staff” to go through it all.

“Fox is going to sift through it and only put out what they want,” Lindell replied. “I’m tired of breaking our constitutional rights.”

“I don’t know why the media’s not going after [McCarthy],” Lindell said. “It’s like a cover-up. Why does just Fox get this? So they can cover this up even more? It’s disgusting.”

Lindell, who heads up his own media outlet, LindellTV, argued that everyone should have access to the tapes, not just Tucker Carlson.

“All of us, including War Room, we need to see what’s on those tapes, and we need to see all of them,” he stated. “We need to go through them. We’re the press, too.”

As BizPac Review reported, the announcement that Carlson’s team would be given exclusive access to the previously unreleased footage sparked a symphony of exploding liberal heads.

“Kevin McCarthy turned over Jan 6 videos to right-wing propagandist Tucker Carlson,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) ranted on Twitter. “A man who spews Kremlin talking points. Suggests Jan 6 was a false flag. And spreads the Big Lie. Make no mistake: This isn’t about transparency, it’s about fueling dangerous conspiracy theories.”

Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) called the move an “egregious security breach,” claiming it will endanger “the hardworking women and men of the United States Capitol Police, who valiantly defended our democracy with their lives at risk that fateful day.”

And Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said McCarthy’s decision to hand it all over to Carlson proved the Speaker was only interested in “pandering” to conservatives.

“By handpicking Tucker Carlson, Speaker McCarthy laid bare that this sham is simply about pandering to MAGA election deniers, not the truth,” he wrote in a letter to his colleagues. “Tucker Carson has no fidelity to the truth or facts and has used his platform to promote the Big Lie, distort reality, and espouse bogus conspiracy theories about January 6.”

But there are plenty of Republicans who are not exactly pleased with McCarthy’s choice either, arguing that it would be better to simply dump all of the footage online WikiLeaks-style and allow the American public to comb through them at will.

Conservative independent journalist Laura Loomer, who was convinced McCarthy wouldn’t release them at all, described the release to Fox News as “the art of deception.”

“This is clearly a media campaign to make @SpeakerMcCarthy look like he’s ‘fighting’ when really he’s done nothing of value,” she stated on Twitter. “‘McCarthy gives access to footage’? Public access? Because nobody has it. Only Fox News which is blatant curation.”

It’s worse than that, Lindell told Bannon. It’s “discrimination.”

He said LindellTV is going after McCarthy based on “freedom of the press,” saying he was “injured by not having access,” and, with the Equal Protection clause, it is tantamount to “discrimination by the Speaker.”

“This also goes back to my lawsuits with Dominion and others,” Lindell said, referring to his attempts to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election. “There’s a lot of cover-up going on, where the two even tie together out there. The lawyers, we were going to go after Fox to get it, and the lawyers — yesterday, we had a big meeting, and they said, ‘no, we’re going to go right after the Speaker, right after Congress.'”

Online, Lindell’s stand is receiving a good amount of support.

“Pay attention,” wrote one user. “This is what a Patriot looks like.”

“‘It needs to go to everybody,'” another wrote, quoting the CEO, “for once I agree with Lindell.”

“Now there’s 2 things I agree with Lindell about,” confessed a third, “proper neck support and Kev’s mistake.”
