The upcoming 47th annual Miss Universe pageant is under the spotlight again as one of the contestants took a shocking fall off the runway stage.
Startling video footage made the rounds on social media showing a moment in Thailand during the preliminary evening gown round when Miss Jamaica literally fell off the stage.
Footage showed Dr. Gabrielle Henry walking down the runway in her orange-colored gown, when she seemed to reach the edge of the stage and step right off, plummeting to the ground before audience members, who immediately jumped to their feet.

“She was rushed to the Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries; however, they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery,” the statement read. “We kindly ask everyone to stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care. We thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support, and continued prayers.”
Henry, an ophthalmologist and the founder of the See Me Foundation, is “under good care,” according to a statement from Raul Rocha, owner of the Miss Universe pageant.
“I was there with her family and her, and thankfully, there are no broken bones, and she is under good care. She will remain under observation for the rest of the night, and we will remain in touch with her family and support her,” Rocha wrote. “Our prayers go out for her prompt recovery.”
