Missing Russian model who slammed Putin as a ‘psychopath’ found dead in suitcase

The decomposed body of a Russian model who slammed President Vladimir Putin as a “psychopath” just before she went missing has been found in a suitcase.

Dmitry Korovin, 23, described as a jealous boyfriend, has confessed to strangling Gretta Vedler, 23, after an argument over money in Moscow that was unrelated to her political views and feelings about Putin, the Daily Mail reported.

“He told interrogators that he slept in a hotel room for three nights with her corpse which he put in a newly-bought suitcase. Then he drove her body 300 miles to Lipetsk region and left it in the boot of a car for more than a year,” the British newspaper reported.

In a twisted move, Korovin told detectives that kept posting pictures and messages on the model’s social media account to make friends believe she was still alive. He reportedly uploaded a photo of himself pretending to be on a romantic date with Vedler on her Instagram account, as if she took the image.

A close friend of the model, Evgeniy Foster, who is a blogger in Kharkiv, Ukraine, became suspicious and had a friend in Moscow register a missing person report on Vedler.

In January 2021, a month before she was killed, Vedler had commented on social media about Putin’s crackdown on protests in Russia, according to Meaww.

“Given the fact that Putin went through a lot of humiliation in childhood, he could not stand up for himself due to his [slight] physical form, it is not surprising that he left after law school and joined the KGB,” Vedler wrote. “Such people are timid and fearful from childhood, afraid of noise and darkness, strangers, so traits such as caution, restraint, and lack of communication are developed early in their character. I can only assume, in my opinion, a clear psychopathy or sociopathy is seen in him.

“For psychopaths, it is important to constantly experience a sense of fullness and sharpness of life, so they love risk, intense experiences, intense communication, intense activity — an intense and dynamic life. Maybe he really wants to enhance the integrity of Russia and sincerely wishes the good for the Russians,” she added.

The Daily Mail shared a video from Russia’s Investigative Committee showing Korovin making a full confession and allegedly demonstrating how he killed the model.
