Mrs. Fetterman reacts to New York Post story mocking her slob hubby

Gisele Barreto Fetterman took exception to the New York Post mocking her slob husband who looks more like Uncle Fester than a U.S. senator. Being a Democrat, Mrs. Fetterman used hungry children to punch back.

Post reporter Jon Levine did a little exposé where he tried to enter some of New York’s finer restaurants dressed the way Sen. John Fetterman dresses when he shows up to work at the U.S. Capitol.

“Sen. John Fetterman may be allowed to dress like a slob in the halls of power — but it’s still a capital offense in New York City’s finest restaurants,” Levine wrote, adding that he “crisscrossed the Big Apple’s culinary landmarks wearing Fetterman’s trademark hoodie, gym shorts and sneakers and tried to gain entry — only to face scorn and mockery from maître d’s with more common sense than Congress.”

To the surprise of very few, the doors at these establishments did not swing open for slobs.

A perturbed Mrs. Fetterman responded in a tweet, “As if João would ever eat anywhere where a tasting menu is $275. That’s barely one week of childcare in America (which is a whole other problem) .”

Interestingly, The Washington Post did a glowing feature on Gisele over the weekend, proving at the same time that she knew for years that her husband struggled with depression.

“Sen. John Fetterman’s wife, Gisele, had tried for years to figure out why John was so sad. She wanted a story that made sense,” the Post reported. “Half a year after his hospitalization for severe depression, Gisele navigates her family between worry and acceptance, one day at a time.”

As for her reply to the Post, the senator’s wife limited who could reply to the tweet proving she’s smarter than you may think. At the same time, users can comment when sharing the tweet.
