MS-13 gang member in US illegally arrested for the gruesome murder of 20-yr-old woman with autism

Police in Maryland have arrested an illegal immigrant and suspected MS-13 gang member in the horrific murder of a young autistic woman who was raped and strangled to death last summer with the big break in the case coming as a result of DNA evidence collected at the crime scene, a mobile home where her lifeless body was found.

“On July 27, 2022 at approximately 5:13 PM, officers and paramedics from Aberdeen Fire Department responded to the unit block of E. Inca Street for a cardiac arrest,” the Aberdeen Police Department said in a statement. “Upon arrival, officers located a 20 y/o female deceased, suffering from injuries consistent with a homicide. Officers secured the scene and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.”

The victim, 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton had recently moved to the area with her 22-year-old boyfriend, Aberdeen is about 30 miles northeast of Baltimore.

The 17-year-old suspect who was arrested last Sunday in Edgewood, MD, which lies about 10 miles south of Aberdeen, was determined to be an illegal alien from El Salvador with ties to Malva Salvatrucha or as it is more commonly know, MS-13, the notorious criminal gang of killers, rapists, torturers and drug dealers that have exploited the nation’s porous borders to set up shop in the continental United States.

According to a statement from the Aberdeen Police Department, “Early in the investigation, a seventeen-year-old male became a person of interest and was later determined to be an undocumented non-citizen from El Salvador. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was able to verify that he was also listed in El Salvador as a member of Malva Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13). The suspect’s DNA was compared to evidence recovered at the crime scene by the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division. The test results led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for First Degree Murder on January 14, 2023. The suspect was apprehended in Edgewood, Maryland during the early morning hours of January 15, 2023. He is currently being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center.”

“The suspect is also facing rape, robbery, and other charges,” CBS Baltimore reported.

Kayla’s mother, Tammy Nobles reacted to the arrest from her Norfolk, Virginia home.

“It’s been for me, many sleepless nights. My… I never thought I would take this journey on losing my daughter in such a horrific way and so soon. When I found out that it was a juvenile, I was shocked. I was like, ‘A juvenile did this to her?’ Like I was really shocked. I could not believe a teenager could do this,” she told Baltimore ABC affiliate WMAR.

“Although Kayla was diagnosed with autism, she was determined to live the life she wanted. After moving to Maryland, Kayla found a job that she loved, working for Sephora. Kayla loved her family, especially her mom and baby sister, Emma, and her cat, Oreo. She was a big JoJo Siwa fan and will be remembered for being the kind, loving, trusting, and forgiving person that she was,” the victim’s obituary said.

According to the Justice Department, “MS-13, one of the largest street gangs in the United States, is a national and international gang composed primarily of immigrants or descendants from El Salvador and other central American countries. Branches or “cliques” of MS-13 operate throughout the United States, including in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.”
