MTG introduces articles of impeachment against Joe Biden, continuing ‘Impeachment Week’ promise

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced on Thursday that she is introducing articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden.

“The Constitution, [which] was written by men who believed in a God-fearing nation, provides the ultimate guide on how to govern a civil society,” Greene began. “Every word was carefully chosen to give each branch — a branch of government — the power to check and temper the other. These men knew that, with unchecked power, any branch of government could lose sight of the job they were hired to do and become beholden solely to the power they wield.”

“This is what has happened in America today,” she continued. “Power corrupts. The Biden administration is proof of it. From the top down, virtually every person involved in this disturbing, America-last executive branch has weaponized their office to target their political opponents.”

“It’s unprecedented,” the controversial Congresswoman said, “and it’s not the American way.”

Greene said that she doesn’t take such action “lightly” and detailed the articles of impeachment she has already drawn up for other Biden officials.

As American Wire News reported, following the long-awaited release of Special Counsel John Durham’s 300-page report on the investigation into Trump-Russia collusion in which he determined the FBI and Department of Justice “failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law,” Greene introduced articles of impeachment against FBI Director Christopher Wray.

On Tuesday, she also placed Matthew Graves, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, on the impeachment chopping block for doggedly pursuing Jan. 6 cases while failing to prosecute serious local crimes.

The “time for weaponizing the Department of Justice needs to come to an end,” she stated.

Response to her actions was, according to Greene, met with tremendous support.

“We’ve heard from countless people today in support of my articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves and FBI Director Christopher Wray,” she tweeted. “They want to impeach everyone. It’s amazing.”

“More to come,” she teased, adding the hashtag “ImpeachmentWeek.”

True to her word, she turned her eyes on Thursday to Biden.

“It is with the highest amount of solemnity that I announce my intention to introduce articles of impeachment today on the head of this American-last Executive Branch that has been working since January 20th, 2021, to systematically destroy this country — the President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden,” Greene said.

“Joe Biden has deliberately compromised our national security by refusing to enforce immigration laws and secure our border, allowed approximately six million illegals from over 170 countries to invade our country, deprived border patrol of the necessary resources and policies sufficient to protect our country, and his administration has willfully refused to maintain operational control as required by the law,” she asserted.

In a press release, Greene stated, “Across the country, Americans are facing an economic crisis created by tyrannical Democrat politicians. Joe Biden, acting as a pseudo-dictator, has ignored the Supreme Court and issued his own eviction moratorium. He is shredding the Constitution and usurping the balance of power by issuing an edict the Supreme Court declared was a power of Congress.”

“This is a process no one wants to go through, but it is a necessary process for the safety and security of the country and the American people,” she said. “We are a nation in distress. Our foreign allies and even our own citizens can no longer trust our government in the hands of Joe Biden. It’s the duty of Congress to hold the president accountable when he puts our nation at risk and ignores the rule of law.”

She called the government in its current form “illegitimate.”

“Currently, our government is illegitimate because it is no longer serving its citizens,” Greene explained. “We have to restore respect for America in order for our allies and our citizens to trust the government.”

Articles of Impeachment were drawn up for Biden’s alleged “dereliction of duty,” the “border crisis,” and for “usurping Congressional authority and ignoring [the] judicial authority of the Supreme Court.”

Under each article, bulleted points detail examples of each charge, including, among many others:

  • Joe Biden abandoned tens of thousands of American citizens and Afghan allies stuck in Afghanistan at danger of being captured, tortured, held hostage for ransom, or killed.
  • President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has willfully refused to maintain operational control of the border as required by the Secure Fence Act of 2006. His actions have directly led to an increase in illegal aliens and illegal narcotics, including deadly fentanyl, entering the United States.
  • President Biden has demonstrated his manifest disrespect for Congress, the American people, and the rule of law by usurping congressional prerogatives explicitly enumerated in the Constitution and reaffirmed by the Supreme Court.

On Twitter, reaction to Greene’s call to impeach the president has predictably split down party lines, with liberals personally attacking the Congresswoman and dismissing her undeniable claims.

“I think you’re the one who needs to be removed from government, Marge,” wrote one angry Biden fan. “You’re a traitorous and evil menace.”

“Today I’m once again desperate for attention,” jeered another. “Fixed it for you.”

But many cheered Greene on, thanking her for demanding accountability from the left.

“Thank you for your hard work!” exclaimed one user.

“I love your spirit,” wrote another.

And a third encouraged the GOP to back Greene’s action.

“GOP BETTER GET BEHIND HER,” the user warned. “WE’RE WATCHING!”
