Why mess with near-perfection?
Netflix raised eyebrows when the streaming service announced it would launch a “reimagined” take on the classic stories from Laura Ingalls Wilder that later became a beloved TV series “Little House on the Prairie” through the mid-1970s to early 80s.
“Part family drama, part survival tale, and part origin story, the series will offer a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the American West,” Netflix announced.
It’s just one long never ending march through the culture to destroy what you love. https://t.co/H8BWEl2hT7

The “reimagining” statement along with Netflix’s track record of leftist leanings raised a giant red flag for those who treasure the adventurous tales of family, faith, and survival.
In other words, critics are expecting a “woke” version and let the streaming service know it:
Stop ruining classics. The only possible improvement would be if you follow each book to the letter. I hope that is your vision for the show. Otherwise, cancel it now. Anyone who doesn’t like that Laura Ingels Wilder was a white woman deserves their own historical characters made…

Albert will be a bi-racial deaf trans orphan who steals dwarf Laura’s clothes & helps heal Bearded Mary’s blindness with a fashion show at the Binary Church she’s a Witch Priest at.
Watch for it, you know it’s coming. https://t.co/s8LIqBHaU4

Please stay true to the book.
Don’t add a bunch of characters and stories that didn’t happen to forward a political agenda.— Alatáriel (@genuslogicae) January 29, 2025
Highly unlikely.
This was one of my favorite shows to watch in syndication. It does NOT require any ‘reimagining’.
I’ve got my eye on you, Netflix https://t.co/6bvrTVap6G

Absolutely no re-imagining is needed. Everyone knows what that means and we reject your rewriting of everything to fit leftists world views.
We don’t need Laura to be trans, Mary to be struggling with her lesbian identity, Ma and Pa to be portrayed as colonizers and Walnut Grove…

I’d be willing to bet that nasty Nellie will remain true to character.

Oh yeah! Her too.
Don’t mess with it. The original TV series is unashamedly Christian, and careful with its’ critique of The West’s moral successes and failures. That’s something both Michael Landon (a Jew) and Victor French wanted to preserve.

The Native American chief will teach Pa that Capitalism is bad. Laura will defy the racist Olsons and become bffs with a Native girl, who will teach her about morality. Mary will give monologues about how her disability doesn’t define her. Carrie will turn out to be autistic.

Nailed it!
Do not under any circumstances “reimagine” this series. You will never survive the #GenX backlash. Just don’t. https://t.co/bL41daDr8g

You are going to mangle this into twisted, butchered, unrecognizable slop.
