‘Never in my lifetime’: Mike Pence lets loose on president for mountain of lies

Former Vice President Mike Pence marveled at the dishonesty displayed by President Joe Biden while he openly praised the historic accomplishments of the previous administration.

In a Fox Business Network interview on Monday, Pence praised former President Donald Trump’s record while admitting that “never in my lifetime” has he seen a sitting president lie as much as Biden has in office.

In a discussion with Larry Kudlow that began with criticism of the Biden administration’s war on the fossil fuel industry, Pence lambasted the current occupant of the White House.

“What’s unique about this economic crisis that we’re facing…all of this is a man-made economic crisis with 100 percent of the blame going to President Joe Biden and the radical left Democrats in the Congress driving policy in the United States,” Pence said Monday evening on “Kudlow.

Calling out the president because “he won’t take the blame” for inflation and other crises his own policies have created, Kudlow brought up the dishonesty.

“Have you ever seen a president who refuses to accept blame, and I want to add to that, commits so many falsehoods?” he asked Pence. “I’m being very polite here, calling it falsehoods – falsehoods, you know, on any given day. He’s out there saying stuff that just ain’t true. Have you ever seen anything like that?”

The former vice president admitted that he had not.

“Never in my lifetime,” Pence said. “I said today that there has never been a time in my life where a president was more disconnected from the American people than we see today.”

In the lengthy interview, Pence also called on Biden to “unleash American energy” and to end his administration’s “war on energy” as well as be fiscally responsible.

“Now is the time for Joe Biden to live up to the oath that he took, to promote the general welfare of all the American people. Turn our country back to the policies that we know will create prosperity for every American,” he said. “And a balanced federal budget is at the very core of where that begins.”

In a separate interview with Fox News Digital, Pence spoke of how the president is “embracing the politics of the radical left” while being out of touch with ordinary Americans.

“The issues that are bearing upon the American people are, as is often the case, not what Washington is focused on,” he told Fox News on the sidelines of a University Club in Chicago speech.

He also called out Democrats and the House committee investigating the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, while he praised Trump.

“January 6 was a tragic day, and I know we did our duty, but I will always be proud of our record,” Pence said. “And I am not going to allow the Democrats to use that tragic day to distract attention from their failed agenda or to demean the intentions of 74 million Americans who rallied behind our cause.”

Admitting that he “had concerns about voting irregularities” following the 2020 election, Pence explained that he had hoped the issue would have been taken up by the courts, including the Supreme Court.

“But, ultimately, the courts passed on them, and the electoral college certified the outcome, and I knew that my oath was clear,” he said, adding that he did his “duty that day, under the Constitution,” even though it cost him in his relationship with Trump who felt he was betrayed.

“We were very close friends,” he said of his relationship with the 45th president.

“We parted very amicably on Jan. 20,” Pence added. “I don’t know if the president and I will ever see eye to eye on my duties on Jan. 6, but, in the aftermath of that tragic day, we sat down, and we talked through it. And then we rolled our sleeves up and finished the final weeks of our administration working together.

“And we parted very amicably. And we spoke in the months that followed us leaving office—we spoke with some regularity,” he continued. “And now, I think we’ve kind of gone our separate ways over the last year, but I’ll always be proud of the record we created.”

Specifically, on Trump’s accomplishments, Pence had nothing but praise.

“To serve alongside a president who literally got up every day and worked in the midst of an avalanche of hostile media, and the entire Russia hoax hanging over our administration—he never stopped fighting every day to deliver on the promises that we had made to the American people,” Pence told Fox News.

He pointed out that the administration “delivered on national security, on border security, on the economy, on wages and income, and turning investment to the country, and conservatives to our courts.”

“I’m just really incredibly proud of it,” Pence added. “Wherever the Lord leads our family in the months and years ahead, I will always be proud to have served in an administration that kept our promises to the American people.”
