New Yorkers LOSE IT when ‘traitorous’ Empire State Building celebrates Eagles’ Super Bowl

In a truly head-scratching moment, the Empire State Building was illuminated in green and white Sunday night after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the handicapped San Francisco 49ers in the 2023 NFC Championship game, advancing to the Super Bowl.

Yes, THAT Empire State Building… with the move coming one week after the Eagles demolished the hometown New York Giants 38-7.

What’s more, the official Twitter account for the iconic landmark celebrated Philadelphia’s win over a team forced to play it’s fourth string QB due to injuries, tweeting: “Fly @Eagles Fly! We’re going Green and White in honor of the Eagles NFC Championship Victory.”

Keep in mind that New York vs. Philadelphia has been called the greatest rivalry in NFL history — a rivalry that began in 1933.

It was enough to have some question if there was a lost bet at play here. Another theory could be that the nation is tired of the “greatness” of Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes being shoved down their throats by sportscasters and this was an early alignment with the Eagles, who will face the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII — courtesy of NFL officiating, in the eyes of many.

The “treacherous, traitorous, and unforgivable” display proved to be too much for the New York City Department of Sanitation, according to the department’s official Twitter account:
