‘No plans’ to remove Texas’ razor wire, says border patrol: ‘Our posture remains the same’

The Border Patrol has “no plans” to take down the razor wire barriers erected by the state of Texas as it seeks to stem the tide of illegal aliens that have poured into the country since President Joe Biden took office.

As a high-stakes legal battle between the Lone Star State and the federal government plays out in the courts, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has defiantly refused to comply with the regime by removing the concertina wire near the southern border as leftists are demanding that Biden federalize the Texas National Guard to allow hordes of foreigners unimpeded access.

On Friday, an unnamed senior Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official told Fox News Digital that the relationship between the Border Patrol and Texas is “strong” amid rising tensions between the White House and Abbott.

“While this issue plays out in the courts, the relationship between Border Patrol, Texas DPS [Department of Public Safety], & TMD [Texas Military Dept.] remains strong,” the official told the outlet. “Our focus is and will always be the mission of protecting this country and its people. On the ground, we continue to work alongside these valuable partners in that endeavor.”

“Bottom line: Border Patrol has no plans to remove infrastructure (c-wire) placed by Texas along the border. Our posture remains the same,” the CBP official said. “If we need to access an area for emergency response, we will do so. When that happens, we will coordinate with Texas DPS & TMD.”

“Enforcement of immigration law is a federal responsibility,” a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said this week, according to Fox News. “Rather than helping to reduce irregular migration, the State of Texas has only made it harder for frontline personnel to do their jobs and to apply consequences under the law. We can enforce our laws and administer them safely, humanely, and in an orderly way.”

On Monday, the Supreme Court sided with the Biden regime in allowing Border Patrol agents to resume cutting the wire in an overruling of a lower court’s order but Texas isn’t backing down one inch with Abbott issuing a statement asserting the state’s constitutional right to defend itself against an invasion and blasting the “lawless” president.

“Under President Biden’s lawless border policies, more than 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border in just 3 years. That is more than the population of 33 different States in this country. This illegal refusal to protect the States has inflicted unprecedented harm on the People all across the United States,” the governor said in the Wednesday statement.

“The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I,§ 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself,” Abbott added.

Since Abbott’s statement, the Republican governors of 25 other states have sided with Texas in the showdown with Biden over the illegal alien crisis.

“As far as a showdown, I don’t know what Joe Biden is going to do. So far, it seems like every decision he’s made has been a bad decision for our country,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton told Fox News on Thursday. “He is cooperating — not just cooperating, but he’s literally in partnership with these cartels.”

“Joe Biden has cut a deal somehow where these cartels transport people directly to the Border Patrol, and then they move them around the country. So we’re in a terrible situation,” he said.
