Not all NFL fans are down with league’s Taylor Swift obsession

The leftist NFL may be smitten by culture icon Taylor Swift but not all football fans share its obsession with her and, in fact, many find her endlessly annoying.

The NFL is being hammered for taking part in Swifty-mania. The organization went so far as to change its Instagram bio, adding a Swift reference that read “Chiefs are 2-0 as swifties” before deleting the cringy line.

Fans noticed the “Swifties” line right below the NFL logo on Instagram Monday morning. It quickly became evident that many football fans were not enamored with the leftist singer and weren’t amused by the NFL fawning over her. By late Monday morning, the line was gone.

The league also posted a video of Swift on Sunday that was captioned, “The @chiefs are 2-0 with @taylorswift in attendance.”

Swift is reportedly dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and has attended two Chiefs games in a row.

The NFL was simply obsessed with Taylor Swift during the Chiefs-Jets game on Sunday, cutting to the pop singer in the stands a mind-blowing 17 times, according to The Athletic.

According to the Daily Mail, as soon as cameras spotted Swift in the stands, NBC anchor Mike Tirico declared, “‘Oh yeah, she’s here: Taylor is in the house,” before adding, “Hi Swifties, we’ll be with you all night.”

She cheered on the Chiefs inside a MetLife Stadium suite on Sunday and was joined by sports team owner Brittany Mahomes and Kelce’s mother Donna.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was disgusted by the fixation on Swift. He accused the NFL of “simping” for her. He was far from alone on that claim. Many fans are asserting that Swift is destroying football with her presence.

Users on X were not impressed and many were just as disgusted as Portnoy was:
