‘Not your job, dude…how dare you?’ Whoopi yells at archbishop over Pelosi call, gets taken to school

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” set her sights on San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone on Monday after he barred House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., from receiving Holy Communion.

Cordileone took the eye-opening step on Friday in response to Pelosi’s virulent pro-abortion stance, telling the devout Catholic in a letter that “should you not publicly repudiate your advocacy for abortion ‘rights’ or else refrain from referring to your Catholic faith in public and receiving Holy Communion, I would have no choice but to make a declaration, in keeping with canon 915, that you are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

In commenting on the story, Goldberg opened Monday’s show by saying “the abortion battle is starting to blur the lines between church and state.”

“The archbishop of San Francisco is calling for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be denied receiving Communion because of her pro-choice stance,” she seethed. “He’s one of the priests who also called for President Biden to be denied Sacrament.”

“This is not your job, dude! You can’t — that is not up to you to make that decision,” Goldberg continued. “You know, what is the saying? It’s kind of amazing. But, you know, what is the point of communion, right? It’s for sinners. It’s for sinners. It’s the reward of saints, but the bread of sinners. How dare you?”

You have to admit, there’s a certain irony in a left-wing Hollywood elitist lecturing an archbishop on his role in the Catholic Church as if Goldberg is an expert here.

The inane remark drew an avalanche of responses on social media, with Ben Shapiro leading the way in pointing out that Archbishop Cordileone’s action was “literally his job.”
