NY Times drops last-minute CYA ‘tell-all’ on White House cover-up of Biden’s decline

Corporate media’s continued cover for President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline added another outlet shifting to shameless self-cover with a last-minute “tell-all.”

Since Vice President Kamala Harris’ loss had cleared the way for President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House, some election postmortems had taken to admitting what, through Orwellian efforts, had been ignored until the June debate between the GOP leader and the incumbent.

This included The New York Times until a decision to run a piece Friday entitled, “How Biden’s Inner Circle Protected a Faltering President.”

Much like their two years too-late admission that the Hunter Biden laptop was genuine, the Gray Lady chose the start of a holiday weekend marking the end of Biden’s administration as the time to report on what conservatives had been pointing out for years, and it did not go unaddressed.

On X, Western Lensman called out the “strategy” of the media and asserted, “After actively engaging in a coverup of Biden’s cognitive state — the brave, intrepid journalists at NYT are out with a tell-all piece on the coverup — blaming Biden’s inner circle, and taking zero responsibility themselves.”

“Everything they lied about for years, they now admit is true — Biden’s ‘walkers’ to hide his shuffle, the short stairs to [Air Force One], his frequent falls, cognitive lapses, teleprompter woes, needing naps for debate prep — everything,” the account continued. “Legacy media is attempting to rewrite history and play the hapless victim of a White House inner circle that managed to dupe them for four years, in a vain attempt to salvage their tattered reputations and cratered credibility.”

Within the piece, the Times stated, “President Biden’s closest family members and advisers recognized his physical frailty to a greater degree than they have publicly acknowledged and worked together to manage his decline.”

“The people closest to President Biden were well aware that he had changed,” it continued. “He talked more slowly than he had just a few years before, needed to hoist himself out of his seat in the presidential limousine and walked with a halting gait.”

A similar contention had been made by correspondent Jan Crawford on CBS News in closing out 2024 when she said, “Undercovered and underreported, that would be, to me, Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in the televised debate.”

Her assertion on top stories of the year followed a report from The Wall Street Journal that determined aides had “insulated” the president.

Among those who had been outspoken about Biden’s cognitive abilities that had even left Special Counsel Robert Hur contending the president should not face charges for his own mishandling of classified documents, Trump had shared a supercut of administration officials and corporate media figures deflecting concerns about the incumbent’s mental acuity.

Joining Western Lensman in calling out the “self-preservation mode” of corporate media, users on X blasted the sudden act of journalism that only stood to support the notion that social media had surpassed news outlets as the go-to source for information.
