Infowars “War Room” host Owen Shroyer, considered by many to be a “speech prisoner,” has received some special gifts to make the time he is spending in solitary confinement a little easier.
Shroyer was sentenced to 60 days in the FCI Oakdale prison for his role in the events of Jan. 6, 2021. Though he never actually entered the Capitol building that fateful day, he was accused of inspiring the so-called “insurrection.”
Thanks to the prison’s COVID-19 policy, the controversial journalist has spent his initial time behind bars in solitary.
“I have confirmed through a contact within FCI Oakdale that Owen is doing well,” Shroyer’s official X account — @OwenShroyer1776 — told followers. “He was able to get a radio/books. Some inmates have passed along snacks. He’s scheduled to leave the SHU on Monday.”
For those who wish to send him letters, Shroyer’s media team urged would-be pen-pals to “please follow the rules when sending mail to avoid complications.”

Before turning himself in, Shroyer recorded for his fans a video in which he vowed to never stop “fighting” for “the truth.”
“I’m about to turn myself in to be a speech prisoner in Biden’s America,” he stated.
“That year 1776 is extremely important not just because it was the founding year of our country, but the US government is arguing that it’s illegal for me to say ‘1776’ in Washington, DC,” Shroyer said, referring to the X account his team established. “Don’t believe me? Check the US government sentencing memo for yourself. They said that me chanting ‘1776’ in Washington, DC, is worthy of 60 days in prison.”

In another video taken just minutes before he entered the prison, Shroyer stated that, while serving his time, he would “try to improve myself and become a better person.”
He challenged his fans to do the same.
“Use this 60 days while I’m away to improve yourself,” he encouraged viewers. “If I can improve myself in there, then you can certainly improve yourself out here.”
That’s, “my final message to you, my loving audience,” he said. “God bless. Godspeed.”

Shroyer’s sentencing outraged many who see it as yet another sign of the Biden administration’s weaponization of the judicial system against those with conservative viewpoints.
“They turned his trespassing charge into a speech crime,” wrote one user on X. “It’s a horrific injustice.”
