Patriotic restaurant owner dismisses ‘woke’ reaction to daily national anthem: ‘We won’t be stopping’

The owner of a California eatery is not backing down amid the so-called controversy over patrons rising daily for the national anthem — a liberal TikTok user called the sight “the most dangerous situation I’ve ever been in.”

The Rainbow Oaks Restaurant in Fallbrook, Calif., has been playing The Star-Spangled Banner every day at 12 noon for six years, and owner Jeanene Paulino insisted in an appearance on “Fox & Friends” that the tradition will not change, but she supported the person’s right to state how they felt about it.

“I feel like, if we take a few minutes out of our day to be grateful for the men and women who have made the sacrifices so that we can stand up and say how we feel,” Paulino said. “She said how she felt, and I wish she realized that it’s because those men and women who made those sacrifices that she was able to do that without any kind of fear at all.”

“I think maybe they’re not focusing on gratitude,” she continued. “This particular TikToker had seen a local news post, so she probably did it for attention.”

Only in post-Obama America is showing respect for the national anthem a horror for some. The TikTok user who complained, using the hashtags #godblessamerica. #getout, #illegal, and #whitepeoplethings, took the account private after the video went viral. Followers of the account called the video, “wild” “scary” and “terrifying.”

Paulino said the tradition was established by previous owners and added that she was proud to keep it going.

“I come from a long line of patriots, so I was thrilled to keep the tradition going. No, we won’t be stopping,” she said.

“We want to remind everyone, we need to be grateful to those people,” she added, speaking of those who have fought and died to keep America free. “And grateful that God gave us a nation that we can say how we feel.”

Turns out, Rainbow Oaks is not the only restaurant in America that plays The Star-Spangled Banner at noon. Mission BBQ in Nashville, Tenn., carries on its own tradition, according to Trip Advisor.
