There she goes again, placing herself above the rules for everyone else.
With the White House coming out this week to encourage Americans to wear masks in indoor settings and when around other people in response to reports of a new COVID-19 variant, a photo was shared online Thursday of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi attending what appears to be a holiday party in Washington without a face mask — for what it’s worth, none of the other DC insiders seen in the photo were wearing masks.
A tweet posted by the @GayPatriotFL account shared the photograph, along with the caption: This is @SpeakerPelosi partying maskless with well-known Democrat insider and gay leftist activist, Steve Elmendorf. She was spotted about 90 minutes ago at the offices of Steve’s firm, Subject Matter.”

In addition to imposing a travel ban from a number of African countries, the Biden administration is reportedly mulling other ideas that critics are describing as a “backdoor lockdown,” including a mandatory, one-week quarantine for all travelers coming to the U.S., which would include American citizens. A testing regimen mandate for both vaxxed and unvaxxed persons is also reportedly under consideration.
Elmendorf, a lobbyist, has been entrenched in Democratic politics for 30 years. He rose to the highest level as a Democratic staffer in the House of Representatives, serving as chief of staff to House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt. Elmendorf also served as a chief of staff and senior advisor for Gephardt’s 2004 Democratic presidential campaign, before becoming deputy campaign manager for John Kerry’s failed 2004 presidential bid.
The Hill listed Elmendorf in its annual list of top lobbyists this week, and he is one of many K Streeters who contributed to Terry McAuliffe’s failed gubernatorial bid in Virginia.
Earlier this week, photos circulated online of a maskless Pelosi attending a D.C. party hosted by the California State Society at the Museum of American History. The Democratic speaker is seen interacting with a child who was wearing a mask.
Tickets for the event state that all attendees over the age of two were required to wear masks, according to Breitbart News.
“All visitors ages two (2) and older are required to wear a mask while visiting Smithsonian museums and indoor spaces, regardless of their vaccination status,” the message stated.

Pelosi’s earlier appearance without a mask came one day after President Biden said of the omicron variant of COVID-19: “Sooner or later we are going to see cases of this new variant here in the United States. Please wear your mask when you’re indoors, in public settings around other people.”
Pelosi’s greatest snub of rules enforced on others came last year during her infamous visit to a San Francisco hair salon, here surveillance video captured the elitist lawmaker walking through the business without a mask. She was getting a wash and blow-out, despite local ordinances shuttering salons amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As might be expected, she did not accept responsibility for the double standard she lives by, opting instead to blame the salon for setting her up.
“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times, and that when they said were able to accommodate people one person at a time, and that we can set up that time, I trusted that,” Pelosi said at the time. “As it turns out, it was a setup, so I take responsibility for falling for a setup.”
