PetSmart latest company to face boycotts over ‘Pride’ promotions

PetSmart has become the latest big-name retailer to face calls for boycotts over its featuring of ‘Pride’ merchandise as not even America’s adorable furry friends are safe from the societal saturation of LGBTQ+ propaganda.

Social media users are calling for the pet supplies superstore to be shunned for its promotion of gayness, adding the national retail chain to a list that already includes retail giant Target and Bud Light, both of which are being made to pay dearly for their marketing decisions.

The company is taking fire for its 2023 “You Are Loved” collection that features, among other items, rainbow-colored dog bikinis, bandanas and chew toys, cat capes and collars, and even reptile costumes for those who prefer four-legged friends of the cold-blooded variety.

“PetSmart is celebrating Pride Month with the all-new 2023 You Are Loved collection of Pride themed clothing, toys and accessories for pets of multiple species,” the company said in a press release put out in early May.  “First launched in 2019, the proprietary collection was created in partnership with the associate resource group, PetSmart PRIDE AT WORK, and is a representation of the company’s commitment to supporting associates and community members of all orientations, gender identities and expressions.”

Images and videos from PetsMart locations have been posted to Twitter along with calls from angry customers to spend their money elsewhere out of protest for the company’s promotion of homosexuality and transgenderism, lifestyles that millions of Americans had little problem with until they came for the kids.

The company also proudly states that it has donated $200,000 to a controversial LGBTQ+ advocacy organization that allegedly encourages schools to not inform parents of a child who is transitioning to a different gender and provides free sexually explicit books to school districts.

“Furthering its commitment to the LGBTQ+ community, PetSmart has donated $200,000 to GLSEN, a leading organization dedicated to ending violence, harassment and discrimination against LGBTQ+ youth in K-12 schools. This marks the fourth consecutive year PetSmart has donated to GLSEN, with contributions totaling $600,000 to date,” the company’s website boasts.

It was recently reported that Target has also partnered with the K-12 education group that is at the forefront of pushing gender ideology in classrooms.

According to Fox News Digital, GLSEN “focuses on getting districts to adopt policies that will keep parents in the dark on their child’s in-school gender transition, providing sexually explicit books to schools for free, and integrating gender ideology at all levels of curriculum in public schools.”

“PetSmart is proud to elevate the voices and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community – from our associates and the pet parents we serve, to members of the community and allies,” the company’s press release states.

“Our You Are Loved collection was initiated and inspired by our associate resource group team members to help pet parents and their pets celebrate the spirit of Pride and share our values of inclusion and unconditional love,” said Kristin Shane, senior vice president and chief merchandising officer at PetSmart and executive sponsor of Petsmart PRIDE AT WORK.
