‘Please be careful’: Tucker says he scored Zelenskyy interview, will he endorse Trump?

Tucker Carlson took to social media to say he appears to have scored an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, though there was immediate pushback to the claim.

If the sit-down does happen, will Carlson elicit an endorsement from the Ukrainian leader in the U.S. presidential election? Would Zelenskyy dare endorse Trump, who is currently ahead in the polls, in an attempt to curry favorable treatment?

The former Fox News host has been critical of the Ukrainian leader and opposes the ongoing war with Russia, arguing that it’s unwinnable for Ukraine and that the country should seek a peace deal.

“Looks like we’ve got the Zelenskyy interview,” Carlson posted on X. “We’ve been trying for two years, and with particular intensity after interviewing Putin in February. The point is to bring Americans much-needed information about the conflict that’s completely reshaping their country’s position in the world. Coming soon we hope.”

On that note, an unverified Facebook account that purportedly belongs to Zelenskyy Press Secretary Sergii Nykyforov disputes the claim.

“Mr. Tucker Carlson should more carefully check his sources in the FSB. The President of Ukraine has a completely different schedule, and Tucker Carlson is not there,” the post reads.

The FSB is Russia’s Federal Security Service.

Carlson interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin in February and caught a lot of flak in the media for allowing Putin to go on at length about Russia’s history and its rights to certain parts of Ukraine.

The Russian president didn’t help matters when he said he “didn’t get complete satisfaction” from the event because he was expecting more difficult questions.

While political class DC is all in on financing Ukraine’s war, sending billions upon billions of dollars to a country renowned for its corruption, polling shows more and more American taxpayers are growing weary of the cash dump.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
