Politically connected Jewish leader in Tlaib’s district found stabbed to death outside her home

Detroit community leaders are urging the public to “refrain from speculation” after Samantha Woll, the politically connected president of the city’s Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, was found stabbed to death outside her Lafayette Park home on Saturday morning.

Woll, 40, “previously worked for U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Holly, and on the reelection campaign of Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Democrat,” according to the Detroit Free Press.

Her death occurred in Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s district.

As BizPac Review has reported, Tlaib has made headlines in recent days for her pro-Palestinian rants and falsely insisting that Israel bombed the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the death of Samantha Woll, a beloved and respected leader in the Detroit Jewish Community,” the Michigan chapter of the Anti-Defamation League said in a Saturday statement. “As we mourn her tragic passing, we urge the community to refrain from speculation and allow law enforcement to gather facts.”

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel called Woll’s murder “brutal.”

“I am shocked, saddened and horrified to learn of Sam’s brutal murder,” she said in a statement on Facebook. “Sam was as kind a person as I’ve ever known. She was driven by her sincere love of her community, state and country. Sam truly used her faith and activism to create a better place for everyone.”

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said news of Woll’s death “devastated” him.

“Just weeks ago, I shared a day of joy with Sam at the dedication of the newly renovated Downtown Synagogue. It was a project she successfully led with great pride and enthusiasm,” he wrote on X. “Sam’s loss has left a huge hole in the Detroit community. This entire city joins with her family and friends in mourning her tragic death.”

Detroit Police Chief James E. White urged the public not to jump to “conclusions.”

“Over the course of the last several hours, the DPD has mobilized many of its resources and has been leveraging every law enforcement and community resource it has to help further the investigation,” he said in a Saturday statement.

“Understandably, this crime leaves many unanswered questions. This matter is under investigation, and I am asking that everyone remain patient while investigators carefully examine every aspect of the available evidence,” he continued. “It is important that no conclusions be drawn until all of the available facts are reviewed. An update on the investigation will be forthcoming tomorrow.”

According to CNN, police believe Woll was murdered in her home, though her body was found outside.

“Officers were called Saturday morning about a person lying on the ground unresponsive and when they arrived at the scene, they found a ‘trail of blood’ leading them to Woll’s home,” the outlet reports.

Officers discovered her body with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President,” said the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue. “At this point we do not have more information, but will share more when it becomes available.

“May her memory be a blessing.”
