Pro-Hamas mob chases terrified Jewish students who have to lock themselves in a library

A number of Jewish students at a New York City college were terrorized by left-wing protesters braying “Free Palestine” as they were forced to lock themselves inside a library where they had been chased by the angry mob.

The rising tide of anti-Semitism that has been unleashed over Israel’s war on the Hamas terror organization – and enabled by high-profile Democrats – reared its ugly head at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science, a private institute of higher learning in Manhattan.

On Wednesday, the anti-Israel demonstration – one of many on campuses nationwide – was initially taking place in the lobby but soon spread upstairs as the pro-Hamas protesters overwhelmed security and headed to the library where the Jewish students had taken refuge, fearing for their safety as the mob pounds on the door, braying anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Videos posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, show the harrowing experience of Jews who now have targets on their backs in Joe Biden’s America where colleges have become incubators of hatred and a virulent anti-Semitism reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

“When they started banging on the door, my heart started pounding. I was crying. I think if the doors weren’t locked — I don’t know what would have happened,” one Jewish student told the New York Post of the terrifying experience.

“I don’t want to speculate what would’ve happened. It just makes me too nervous. I was absolutely terrified in that moment,” added the student, who wished to remain anonymous for good reasons.

Several of the students who were barricaded inside the library called relatives and 911 for help, according to the New York Post.

It isn’t clear if police entered the building but a student told the outlet that officers didn’t show up because the school told them not to become involved and that an administrator offered to escort the Jewish students out of the building through a back entrance, which the Cooper Union’s president allegedly used to flee “upon hearing that the protesters were coming her way.”

“If they were scared, if the president was so scared that she left the building, then the police should have been called,” the student told the New York Post. “Why would they leave the students in the building without police protection when the president of the school who was also targeted left herself?”

“I think we’re all honestly scared. We don’t feel comfortable going back to school tomorrow,” a senior student said,” according to the outlet.

“It felt crazy that once they overtook the security guards, they still didn’t want the police to come in. So that doesn’t make sense to me. It doesn’t make sense to me that once the doors were locked — which means that they clearly felt we were in danger — they still didn’t let the police come in … It’s confusing to me that once [the President] left, we were still there and they didn’t let the police come in,” the student added.

The hostile environment for Jewish students will likely only worsen as Israel prepares its ground offensive to eliminate Hamas and Jew-hating activists and members of the Democrat “Squad” continue to stir the agitate for a ceasefire.
