‘Racist’ Chicago mayor changes subject to ‘monster Trump’ in response to DOJ probe

The left in America is coming to terms with the concept of accountability for one’s actions under the new and improved Trump administration, and things are not going well for them.

Take Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, for instance. The Democrat is the subject of a Justice Department investigation into alleged race-based hiring practices after boasting about hiring black people because they are “the most generous people on the planet.”

As might be expected, given that Johnson is under scrutiny for his alleged discriminatory practices, he was only too happy to pivot to the Democrats’ fallback “but Trump” strategy.

“As far as, you know, the president’s animus towards women, people of color, working people, we have always known who he has been,” the mayor said during a Wednesday press conference. “This is not a surprise. He’s a monster.”

“We have the most diverse administration in the history of Chicago, and he is threatened by that,” Johnson further claimed.

Chicago voters have some soul searching to do after graduating from a former mayor, a black lesbian, who refused at one point to grant interviews to white reporters, to a man who allegedly believes black people are superior to other races.

Working in their favor is Hizzoner’s polling numbers, as Grok informed one social media user that Johnson’s approval rating “is approximately 6.6%, based on a February 2025 M3 Strategies poll of 696 likely Chicago voters, with 79.9% disapproving,” noting that no newer polls were available.

Count on the media to boost Johnson’s hopes of turning the focus back on Trump while conveniently skipping over the facts, because that’s what it does as an active participant in the political process. The American people are a different story, they know racism when they see it.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
